28 day water fast beginning midnight 18th May

@Overcomer yes! I just got off a zoom meeting with my women’s group from church and I feel so much relief. I haven’t told anyone about my water fast because I’ll probably get mixed reviews you know but I do feel a lot better. The hunger has subsided completely(for the moment:upside_down_face:) I guess I was just exposed to a lot of food today  we did a small grocery shop and then my kids wanted chick fil a so it was a lot for me today. Thanks for the support :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: you have accomplished a lot as well! Keep strong! May the Lord bless you
In abundance!

Starting on Day 11, happy to have come this far, somehow I’m already counting days to complete the fast. No hunger, certainly feeling weak and sleepy and now having shoulder ache. But I’m able to sot and do some office work, thank god I’m on work from home schedule now.

When I began I recruited my pastor to be my weekly accountability person. We kept it confidential until it became obvious I was losing a lot of weight. We then went public and the congregation became supportive. Other than getting “teased” now and then (during Halloween potluck the pastor’s wife threw a bunch of candy in front of me to test my resolve). LOL

Sounds like everyone is doing well and getting the support they need!

@Cassandra_G glad you were able to resist Chick-fil-a. I don’t eat chicken, but will always admit their food smells so goooood lol. I don’t know many that can resist it (just look at the statistics of sales versus other fast food chicken places and Chick-fil-a is only in certain states), so you should be proud.

@Shankari_Nagendran are you on day 11 or 12 today…it always seemed that you were one day ahead of me and I’m on day 11 today – just don’t want you to sale yourself short a day lol.

@manunez I totally agree…I’m so glad I started in the evening too! I love waking up half way through the day. I hope you’re still doing good on your fast.

@Compdude hope your test goes/went well!

Let’s keep our eyes on our short and long term goals and push to obtain them, I know we can all do it!

Thank you @Mizqtpye  I had a little giggle when I read that. Had no idea about the statistics of chick fil a but feeling even more proud of myself after reading your response. Thank you! I just had to keep repeating “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels” that definitely is a push for me and I used that during my first few days of the fast as well. Going into day 10  feeling happy, accomplished. Overall good. 18lbs gone as of today. Definitely motivation for me! Hope everyone enjoys their day! Keep pushing! :two_hearts:

Hi everyone. I am at the middle of day 11. I woke up feeling better, but I went to buy a plastic table and 2 chairs for my balcony, and althought its light, climbing 2 floors, my heart rate went up up, and it looked like I did some hiit exercise. I feel more thirsty today and cofee didn’t taste like normal. I also feel a little nauseated but everything passes
Stay strong, everyone!

@Fazinha I noticed that I was thirsty and coffee is not tasting so good. (I am on Day 9).
@Cassandra_G My son used to work for Chick-fil-a. It was bad. We maxed out his employee discount. Yazmin’s “I have my whole life to eat the foods I want,” is what is pushing me on.

I must be feeling good because I’ve started toying with the idea of pushing past 21. The thought of stopping so close to “onederland” is my inspiration, but I would need to drop at least 8 below that to make sure I don’t rebound back into the 200’s. By my conservative estimate, Day 21 I will be @207 lbs. When is a good time to make that decision? I plan and shop for my refeeds days before the end.

@manunez the struggle is real! :joy: going to keep that in mind as well. I have the rest of my life to eat the foods I want. Thank you. Feeling sooo out of breath after reorganizing my spices and pantry phew. It took me almost 2 hours I had to keep stopping but I’m pushing through it. Ran a couple errands after but I’m feeling okay now. The potassium and salt really help for me. Gonna relax in my pool and enjoy the sunshine :two_hearts: Hope everyone’s doing well!

Hi all,

Just want to thank you for posting and cheering each other on here. The support of this group is palpable, and it’s so inspiring to see so many of you pushing past the halfway mark on your extended fasting goals. Great job, and much respect! Happy fasting,

Hey All,

Thank you for sharing all your updates. I love reading them.

I’m on Day 13, feeling ok, no hunger, but I’m having rashes on my hands, I’ve read about keto rashes during fasting meaning to say your body is on ketosis… @Compdude any thoughts on this.

Otherwise, still going strong but certainly miss my energetic self. Wonder how some people have a surge of energy during fasting, I’ve never had that.

Stay strong.
Hunger is the first element of self - discipline . If you can control what you eat and drink, you can control everything else!

This a post by Anna, who is getting her Masters in Public Health. Unfortunately, she’s no longer active in the forum. I supported her on her successful 30-day fast back in December.

It’s an inflammatory condition in the skin which shows in red, itchy rashes around the neck, armpits and chest usually!
If you’re otherwise healthy, there’s a correlation between the rash and going into Ketosis, since when you’re in ketosis, sweat (even in small amounts) can contain the ketone body acetone and can be irritating at high concentrations if your skin is sensitive!

Unfortunately I haven’t come across many solutions for it! I was lucky that mine went away even while I was still fasting!
I believe that the Keto rash, like a majority of skin rashes may get worse when exercising a lot or expose the skin to friction och moisture!

If you’re able to deal with it for a couple of days, (maybe weeks?) you might see how it evolves over time, and (hopefully :pray:) it might fade after a little while being in Ketosis, since the body adjusts to being in Ketosis after a period of time! I’d suggest making sure you’re not sweating excessively and maybe shower more often than you’re normally used to when not being in Ketosis, so the acetone amounts that are released through the skin doesn’t irritate your skin more!

I’ve heard that the rash can get triggered by micronutrient deficiencies as well (if you’re experiencing this while eating a Keto diet too). I don’t exclude carbohydrates from my diet myself so I don’t have any experience in that part though!

@Compdude thank you very much. It makes sense, I’ve never had this before fasting, so ill conclude this as Keto rash and I guess it will go off after the fasting. I can bear the itchiness, and since I’m still stuck at home now, this is ok. Plus the perks of having brown skin:crazy_face::crazy_face: it’s not noticeable.

Never had the rash to my knowledge, but then again I got into the habit of almost a daily soak in the tub during my longer fast that I still enjoy😃

Hi everyone! I hope you are all strong in you journey!
Today I am finishing my day 12. Today I had to take some warm water with ACV im the morning and right now, before going to bed because of my acidity in the mouth and in the stomach. All day I was tired but the weather does’nt help because its hot. I drank 3 different kind of water (tap water, one mineral with pH about 5 and the other about 9), and I think it helped with my nausea. Coffee no more! About my weight loss, now its about 200 -300 g per day (half a pound), but I feel the difference in my clothes now. So let’s keep doing this!!

How’s everyone’s day? Day 11. Feeling okay…low energy but I miss food honestly. 19.4 lbs gone and I must say that’s huge for me. Currently 214.6lbs. I know I’ll gain some back after the fast but it has been so worth it to keep pushing myself. I’m thinking of doing the last 9 days with bone broth. I ordered the kettle and fire brand online and it’s arriving tonight. I was thinking of starting tomorrow morning. The way I’m feeling now I cannot go back to work for 8 hours. I’m a hairstylist so I’ll be standing all day. I start back at work on the 4th. Any ideas on how to get past this or should I do bone broth to try and help fatigue? I just don’t want to feel bad at work.
