Water Fasting 2020 January Challenge DAY 5 CHECK-IN

Day 5 is here!

How is everyone doing?

I woke up bright and early this morning, no hunger, but I will sleep a bit more since I’m still a bit tired! No symptoms, no hunger, I think I’m finally over the hump and ready to get into “auto-pilot/cruise-control” for the long haul!

Do you guys have any suggestions about important/useful topics we can add to the forum? I want to add some quick-search easy topics that I can pin for reference to the categories!

Checking in. Day 5 of 30 days. No hunger. At work again. Keeping busy. Once again dealing with my coworker gorging himself several times a day. My eye is on the finish line though. And beyond. When I make it to 30 I may continue on with my Dr’s approval. We’ll see how I’m feeling on day 30. Continue forward everyone. We got this.

Checking in on my 3rd day here and everything is going well! For my part the subjects I would suggest are already covered by you :blush: Such as the importance of refeeding. You’ve talked about the binging aspect in your January newsletter and I think it remains a subject that is interesting for this community, I saw the subject pop in a lot of journals. There is also the subject of having the support of the people around you. You talk a lot about having the right mindset and occupy the mind which is an essential part of this process but I’ve noticed people combining water fasting and pushing their bodies to exercise. I’m more on the resting your body as much as possible side since fasting is putting stress on it so I’d be interested to hear about your thoughts on the subject!

I loosely planned to start With you guys on a water fast but the after holiday madness Got Me a bit off track.
So I guess I was OMD for 3 days now 2 days water fasting lol . It’s such a great muscle to have… Just to know that you CAN do it . No big goal and say it I’m just going with how I feel… I can’t wait for that beautiful clarity to set in !!!

Checking in, it’s the evening of day 5 for me! I’m feeling great today, I’ve had a lot of energy and almost felt like going out for a run just to get the excess energy out (decided cleaning was a better option though, don’t want to risk getting drained in energy after)!

The daily live videos is in the middle of the night for me here in Sweden, and so far I’ve been falling asleep pretty late so I’ve been watching them, but IF I miss it I’m sorry, it’s not because I don’t want to watch them, I’ll definitely watch them afterwards! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Checking in day five and again things are going great with this water fast. I did nine days before and one of the main reasons I had to stop was severe heartburn to the point I thought I might injure my esophagus! So far so good…this time is a little different too as I’m allowing myself tea, coffee, and sugar free gum.

You got this! One day at a time! It’s HARD to come off November and December bad habits cold turkey, I slipped up in November and December also and started snowballing and had to cut it out because I was stressed, upset and it was making me feel more and more depressed due to the poor choices I was making! We all slip up, just eventually need to keep going :partying_face: OMAD is great and water fasting will keep getting easier!

Oh no sorry that it’s not the best timing for you!!! You can definitely check-in after I post them! I’ll try to change it up on weekends to give others a chance :heart_eyes: Im day 5 too, feeling a bit weak so about to take my supplements :partying_face::partying_face:

Awesome! Yes now you have the tools to overcome heartburn and acid reflux with apple cider vinegar. :partying_face::partying_face::partying_face: keep going, we’re in it for the long haul!

Day 5 of 7 water fasting. Pretty tired. I slept great though last night! Over 8 hours and I normally only get between 5 and 7. I did have a dream that I ordered a bunch of food but when it came to the table I remembered I was fasting, so I got it all to go for my dog. Hahaha

An idea for a page might be ideas to keep busy. This I think is the biggest prep I need to do before starting a longer fast. I also want to find inexpensive way to stay busy that feel like a reward. I use baths before bed for example.

I’m not hungry but my husband just cooked himself a meal and I’m really enjoying the smells. Staying strong only 42 hours to my goal now!

I’m fasting today. Feeling fine. I’ve been doing ADF with the intent of an EF once I am more used to fasting again. So I might go ahead and fast tomorrow as well. I’m taking it one day at a time for right now.

Exercise and Fasting

I completed my detailed analysis of all the members who participated in the Oct/Nov Challenge & Fastmas. The #4 reason people failed to reach their fasting goal, Strenuous Workouts. Even had one member faint at work.

It’s one of the things I keep an :eye: out in interacting with all the forum members and try to convince them to monitor their energy levels and ease up.

Checking in. Yesterday was terrible I was dreaming about food and watching cooking video. The temptation was bad. But I held on. No craving today, just tired.

Completed day 5! It really felt like day 3 but the difference was that my skin felt really smooth so I don’t want to end my fast already :smiley:
