Starting Another Fasting Thread (Rolling Fasts)

Day 1 complete.

I drank so much coffee that I think I only had one glass of water
Today’s goal, is to drink more water.

Hiya,
I trust you are doing well.
I am currently cutting down, and doing omad as I had to eat a higher carb diet whilst away for the funeral.
Trying to get back into the swing of things. We have 2 weeks left til the end of the year so hopefully we can achieve no weight gain or less weight gain. :pray:t4:

I’m doing well. I’ve been so busy, I was moving to another apartment, needed to get some home appliances, furniture, etc.

I found myself eating out, couldn’t even cook. Am scared of stepping on the scale :sleepy:

I will also do low cab omad for 2 days then fast till Christmas Eve.

I completely understand. I don’t plan on getting on the scales either as it will be off putting :joy:. Do what you can after a few days, it could be fasting for 2 days then eating and fasting again etc. Something easier and manageable for this period.
Wishing you the very best in your new home. :pray:t4:

Thank you

You are right about doing something easy and manageable during this season. It can feel overwhelming.

Also wishing you the best. Next year we go strong than ever and make sure to get to our goals :muscle:

Hiya,

Some additional information I recently found out. It’s best to take even more magnesium after drinking coffees, due to coffee depleting our magnesium levels. Which leads to is feeling worse whilst fasting. So, taking extra magnesium an hour after coffee is best.:pray:t4:

Thanks for this info. With the amount of coffee I drink, I guess my magnesium levels are lowest.

Ordering magnesium ASAP.

Subject: Rolling Fast Proposal

Hi,

I hope you’re doing well! Are you ready for the new year?

I wanted to see if you would be interested in trying a rolling fast for a month to test out weight loss. I’m starting a Daniel fast on the 6th for a week, but I’m open to beginning the rolling fast before the 13th if you’d like.

I was thinking we could start with four days of rolling fasting, and if we notice that weight loss slows down, we can extend it to five days and gradually increase the duration. This way, it won’t be too much of a shock to our systems.

Let me know what you think!

Hi

So ready for the new year :raised_hands:

This is a great idea and am in. I hosted my family for the holidays and they will be leaving on 6th.

I plan on doing Omad from 6th for 1 week to prepare as you do your Daniel fast. Then we can start 4 days rolling fasts.

We can do the 4 days rolling fasts for the whole month of January then we bump it to 6 days rolling fasts with 1 day refeed.

Back then when I was so consistent with fasting I saw great results with 6 days fasts + 1 day refeeds. At one point I went from 250 lbs to 149 lbs with only these fasts. Hope I can replicate that discipline and results

I’m glad to hear that you’re on board. Rolling fasts start on the 13th. How long did it take you to lose 100 pounds with six-day rolling fasts? I’m curious.

It took only 4 months. I was so consistent, coffee & tea kept me going.

Then I fell off the wagon and gained everything back and some more :pensive:

Only 4 months, very impressive! You did it before and we will do it together, this time we will lose more weight to accommodate for refeeding weight gain. We can also make a plan nearer the finish line of how to keep the Weight off.
For the 4 days rolling fasts shall we do a 4 hours refeed?

We’ll surely do it. Having an accountability partner helps a lot.

I realized then that maintaining the weight loss is actually harder than losing the weight if you don’t plan well. So the idea of having a maintenance plan towards the end is amazing.

Right, we can do 4-hour refeeds.

Knowing that I did it before is actually the only reason I kept trying even after failing a million times :joy:

I agree. Having an accountable partner is great and will help us. Enjoy your new year’s celebrations with your family. God bless. :pray:t4:

Omad Started. Trying to do Low carb.

Just weighed myself and I was so disappointed :disappointed:
I gained so much weight. 13 pounds away from hitting 300. This is insane :flushed:

Starting Weight: 287 lbs

Happy New Year, @Damaris_Njeri! Please don’t stress about this. If we hadn’t done some fasts last year, we would have likely gained more weight. Also, be aware that there will be some water weight involved.

I was thinking that since the Daniel Fast is not low-carb, I will need to transition to a low-carb diet for about three days before starting the fast to set myself up for success. I’d like to start on the 16th. Let me know if that works for you. If you would like, you could do a 72-hour fast and then join me on the 16th so we can do the four-day rolling fasts together. I wish you success with Omad in the meantime. :pray:t4:

Happy new year :tada:

I would have probably gained more if we didn’t do those few fasts. Will not let it discourage me.

It’s okay, we can start on 16th. I will extend my Omad so we can start on 16th together. I am also trying to get back to 10k steps daily.
