Starting Another Fasting Thread (Rolling Fasts)

Am again attempting fasting.

I have failed so many times because i never prep. I’ve discovered not prepping is what makes my fasts unsuccessful.

I have been prepping for 2 weeks now, eating mindful, one meal a day and eating healthy. I think that am ready now to fast.

I will use this thread as my accountability. Will be posting weigh-ins, measurements, feelings and so on. Fingers crossed i make it this time around.

Starting Weight: 275 lbs
Goal Weight: 140 lbs
Height: 5’8"
Gender: Female

16 hours in.

Feeling optimistic, not hungry or tired. But it’s too early to experience any of those.

My goal is to not think of how far i am from my goal and how long it will take. Instead, i focus on sticking to my plan, taking it one hour at a time and being proud of small victories.

Will be weighing after 24 hours.

I ended up doing OMAD the whole week. Am not mad (surprisingly). The reason is that I didn’t go all in like when I failed previously.

I watched what I ate and only ate 1 meal a day. I even lost weight.

Starting Weight: 275 lbs
Current Weight: 269 lbs
Total Lost: 6 lbs

Been doing Omad since and i haven’t lost or gained any weight.

I started another fasting attempt yesterday, 22 hours in now. Will weigh tomorrow and update.
I hope to stick with this now, especially because OMAD is no longer working for me. But I think OMAD is amazing for maintenance.

63 hours in

This is the longest i’ve fasted in a very long time. I feel hungry but will hang on until Sunday. I can’t ruin this progress now. Almost out of 270s :muscle: :grinning:

Broke my fast on Saturday (cravings got the best of me :expressionless:)

Anywho, I’m still proud of myself for fasting that long after failing so many times. My scale stopped working on the same day. No idea what happened, tried to charge it but nothing.

I just ordered a new scale yesterday (will be arriving maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow). I am sure I gained some water weight back. I REALLY ATE :pensive:

I have started another fast right now after having dinner. Trying to go until Sunday, refeed and start again. This time I will succeed no matter what.

I will update my weight once my scale arrives.

I am a bit disappointed. It seems I regained most of the weight back, My refeed was carb heavy, so it’s not a surprise I gained so much.

However, I actually lost a few inches. I just decided to measure and I was shocked. I lost 3 inches from my waist and 3 inches from my hips for a total of 6 inches. WHAT!! That’s amazing.

I started walking 10,000 steps per day when I started the fast, maybe this played a role. Am happy with that. So I did omad today (I know :disappointed:)

I have started another fast and I am aiming to go for 11 days. This is so ambitious but it’s possible.

I don’t think fasting is for me at this point. No matter how much I try, I cannot defeat the stupid inner voices that always convince me to quit and start later.

I’m starting to believe, I will never be able to lose this weight. My biggest enemy is my mind. I can’t control my mind/thoughts. I believe I have a food addiction and I use it for comfort.

Well, i will be trying again.

I tried counting calories and it’s not for me.

I have a trip in 30 days and I think this can be the motivation I need to kick-start this journey. I don’t want to be feeling tired, sweaty and have clothes not fit correctly during this trip. So I am going to give it my all and lose the most I can during this period.

I know 30 days fast seems too ambitious considering that I haven’t been consistent at all. But I think it could work. Every time I do a short fast and refeed, am not able to restart as planned. So maybe continuous fast will work.
