I think you’re right Anna about mineral intake. I have uped my salt since then and have not experienced the extreme light headedness. I guess my salt was not where it needed to be.

Recap of day 5:
Made it through another day! Woohoo! I have really been having a hard time when it comes to my family/housemate is eating meals together. I am not physically hungry, but long to connect with them through the flavors they are tasting together. I do my best to just indulge in the smells, but still feel like I am missing out. My housemate and I eat very similarly: clean/organic, very gourmet, flavor driven. The difference is, he is much more of a meat eater. We also put so much love into our food. So when he cooks, he doesn’t just make food out of necessity, he makes food for experience and to connect with others. And, he doesn’t use recipes (I’m the same way) so that means when he makes something, it usually isn’t easily recreated. So I find myself fighting those kinds of thoughts that I am missing out on the opportunity to eat his unique creation.
Day 6:
Today is the beginning of day 6, or 12 hours into day 6. Felt pretty lightheaded this morning again, and super energyless. I decided to put 1 TBSP of HWC into my morning coffee (this fast is focused on weightloss and mot autophagy). My energy levels are up as a result! I have a big day ahead with lots to do and I don’t want to break my fast, but also don’t want to be a lethargic lounging lizard today either lol. HWC worked I am down another pound today and that feels good!
What does HWC stand for?

HWC stands for heavy whipping cream. I use organic, raw. Dr. Fung mentions in his book: The Ultimate Guide to Fasting that HWC will not break a fast, no more than 50 Cals though (1TBSP). Also there are two doctors that tested HWC, MCT oil, butter and coconut oil. None of those additives to coffee broke their fast. Fung said its negligible if 50 cals of pure fat stops autophagy. For me though, I know will do an EF once I reach my weight goal and have built some muscle to address my excess skin (mom of three beautiful girls and having lost 100 pounds did leave my tummy with excess skin). But for now, my fasts until I reach my weight goals will be focused on losing fat.

This young lady’s experience and results is so inspiring! Once in the 140’s, this is what I will be focusing on with my fasts: autophagy. I am sure my body is doing some of that now, but I am telling it to get rid of the fat (yes, we can talk to our bodies, and they listen lol). I am telling it to get smaller and leaner.
Update on overcoming marijuana addiction:
I am noticing that I am no longer experiencing the instant craving/desire/urge to smoke after drinking my morning coffee! My “urges” and diminished into slight inclinations. I had a slight inclination to smoke before bed last night. Today it’s almost 3 pm California time and I have had no urges. The only thing that spurred this entry was that I was scrolling through my journal and I saw the mention of marijuana and I was like oh! I almost forgot I was fasting from that! It feels so good to be this far from marijuana use, it really does. For me, it became no longer medicinal, it was a crutch. And when one uses crutches when they no longer have a broken leg, the crutches will actually hurt the person! Imagine being hunched over on crutches when they’re not needed. Armpits hurting unnecessarily. Also, you would have to walk as though your leg was injured to use the crutches properly. What a joke! Counting my blessings

I’m glad you’re doing so well in recovering from the addiction! I’m sure urges will come every now and then (because the brain has a great memory when it comes to dopamine stimulating substances) but I’m glad you don’t get massive cravings at this point! Fasting is a great tool to reset and detox so the abstinence get much less noticeable!
It will be interesting to see once you complete your 14 day fast and if you have any of the food you ate while you were high if it would trigger a marijuana craving.

Oh me too! I told myself when I get an urge, to just take four big breaths, and breath in God’s love. I am really counting this as a huge blessing that overcoming this very long addiction hasn’t been harder.
That would! Yeah because right now I am only seeing the behavioral triggers, i.e.: getting ready to go for a long drive, seeing family, after morning coffee, etc…
Wow! More progress detected! I was so happy to find one of my prior favorite shirts only to find out it is too loose. The photo in the left was taken apx May 2019. I remember this trip to Sacramento, Ca for one, because I was so happy to be under 170 at 169, only to go back up to my typical 170’s probably a week later. The photo on the right is today at 163 lbs. Crazy. Only a 6 pound difference. I am utterly amazed at what 1 year, 3 months of fasting has done for my physical composition. This has completely put me in a MUCH better place mentally! I have been going back and forth with being frustrated with myself for not losing more weight (per the scale) than I have. Anyway, I am very, very happy with my results. If you haven’t taken before/progress pictures, I HIGHLY suggest you do! It has totally picked me up mentally and emotionally to see the difference when I felt there was no difference being made.

Oh thank you Yasemin! I am in this girl! And that feels so freaking good. I just watched this girl’s experience of IF for one year (vegan 16:8/OMAD/20:4 variations) and one thing she said and showed was how much leaner she got and lost absolutely NO WEIGHT. So there is definitely something to this! I love it! I can’t tell if this is 6th day euphoria, or the excitement that I am in fact making progress or maybe it’s both lol! I just feel it in my soul, we are going to be relishing our summer bods this summer!! Can hardly wait girl! I think the we are just within pounds of each other if what we ultimately want to lose…my GW 145 and you’re 135 right? I’m am currently 18 lbs away. I am excited because not only do I believe this is acheivable for us, but I feel it and see it. Back to our original state baby! Woohoo!
