Rebecca's journal :)

I would love to wake up tomorrow to one of your recommended motivational videos as I am getting ready to turn in for the night. But yes, I am in need of a good video

Good choice. I’m also going to use this one for my NEW Daily Journal for my 21-day Water Fast starting tomorrow.

Bonus motivational story: Arnold Schwarzenegger, “A journalist once asked Muhammad Ali how many sit-ups he did everyday. Ali answered, ‘I only start counting when I feel pain.’”

Love it! That quote gave me chills. Thank you for the video! I am getting ready for my little nephew’s 2nd birthday party, it’s about a 30 minute drive, so I will stream it then
and what is this I hear? Another EF? Yay! I look forward to fasting with you! You never know, you may encourage me to go longer. Today I feel good. I am confident I will make it my usual 8 days with no problems, my fasting muscle has really gotten stronger in that sense. Meaning, before, I couldn’t drink coffee after 24 hrs because of the over load of energy, but that doesn’t happen anymore. Anyway, my goal is to get through Jan 31st, refeeding on Feb 1st. But, we’ll see how I feel, and maybe I’ll go longer with you

Glad to have you aboard! I’m thinking for each entry I’ll also add a daily motivational video. So besides reprogramming our body we’ll also reprogram our brains for success.

Yes!!! Reprogram our brains to putting our minds in control of our thoughts, and not the other way around. I appreciated the video, it was good and REAL words to hear. I liked this quote a gal on the FB group mentioned: train insane, or remain the same. I don’t want to be the same anymore. I want to be slimmer, thinner, fitter, stronger, less inflammation, etc. I will never change if I keep allowing things to remain the same. I have more time weed-free, I know that change is going to lead me to more changes. Another change I am making: when I set or plan a goal, I AM FREAKING STICKING TO IT! I have committed myself to a 14 day fast, and
I
am
sticking
to
it! I am reminding myself.

Day 2:

I am hoping on here to give myself a little distract from all the yummy healthy food around me. I am at my nephew’s 2nd birthday at the moment. I am not physically hungry, but my mind is trying to convince me to eat this healthy food. But, I’m not. I did bring my water with me, but it’s not quite cutting the delicious smells lol. Anyway, I’m here for accountability. I am sticking with my fast
food will still be here when I am done.

Day 3:

I’m just checking in, it is day 3 for me. I had a hard time falling asleep last night. Fell asleep around 230 am, woke around 815 am. I felt a little light headed when I got up. Had some coffee, Himalayan salt and three drops of iodine in 16oz of water and now feel a lot better. Feel pretty normal as if it were an eating day. My struggle has mostly been getting over the desire to be stimulated with food or weed. Another day down with mo marijuana, and that feels good. I have been wanting to get past the weed thing for awhile now.

Great job so far Rebecca! You’ve completed the (hopefully) worst days! :sparkles::muscle:
Are the urges/cravings to smoke gone too?

Hi Anna! My cravings to smoke have not gone away completely. But since you asked, I have noticed today that my usual craving that comes when I have my morning coffee did not come. So that is an improvement! On Sunday I noticed the craving to smoke was hitting me hard before I went to a family event. That tells me my desire to smoke is also tied to my emotions and not just a daily ritual.

Day 4/14:

Oh boy! Am I feeling soooooo lightheaded! I have done so many 3-4 day fasts in the last almost 1.5 years I cannot believe the light headedness is hitting me today. It is almost to the point of blacking out completely. I supplement with magnesium and potassium daily, iodine and Himalayan salt. I am unsure why it’s hitting me this hard today  I’m just taking things super easy and trying to just relax as much as I can. But I do have a little one that needs to me to get up and change her, feed her etc and everytime i get up, I am getting light headed and my eye sight goes very dark. If this doesn’t get better since I have taken more mag and potassium, I may opt for a small refeed because I do care for little ones. Any suggestions are greatly welcomed!

Okay, I am starting to feel a little more stabilized. I decided to make a broth because when I got out of the shower I was super shaky, heart rate was up too. Feeling better now. Phew! I am going to say, for other fasters out there, had my condition not improved, I would have done a refeed.

Gotta do what you’ve got to do. Glad you are feeling better.

Progress:

I am making this journal entry to remind myself I am making progress although I didn’t really think I was. All the experts say that IF increases muscle and lowers fat, etc etc
I thought that would be great and all, but I really didn’t put much thought in to it that I could experience results like that, especially while not exercising in a way that increases muscle. I know I keep saying this, but I am SO GLAD I took freaking pictures this go around! I decided to actually go through some quick photos I snapped throughout the past couple of months and take new photos today. The photo I have uploaded, I weigh THE EXACT SAME! 164 in both (I am also glad that I have been very good at documenting my weight for the last 8 years lol). Anyway, I am wearing the same clothes. The only thing I didn’t do was take my measurements in the before or after photos. I will try and get better at that while I work towards my ultimate weight loss goal.

Yep. When I had my “Windsurfer God” bod, people were always shocked when I told them what my actual weight was.

Keep it up!

It really is true that each fast is a different experience! I’ve had fasts where I’ve almost blacked out just standing up, and others when I never experienced any of it!
I think the difference for me has been the strict routine of taking the same amount of minerals each day (in relation to my water intake). If I’m just taking minerals every now and then when I feel like I should or need them, it’s easy to get lightheaded and weak! It’s a difficult balance! :cherry_blossom:
