May 14th Start 7-Day Fasting Challenge

How is everyone feeling so far? Excited? Committed? Hangry? :wink:

I started on Tuesday, and tonight will mark the transition from the longest I’ve previously fasted (4 days has been my max-- nothing to you fasting gurus, I know!). I think it’s amazing how much more in tune one becomes with their body and their environment while fasting-- something I’m really grateful for. I’m very interested to see how I feel in the next few days. If anyone has advice for how fasting might change/feel different when you go 7-10 days versus a shorter fast, I’d love to hear it.

I live in a duplex and in the last couple of days my house mates have made cookies and burgers, the smells from which have made my stomach grumble with jealousy. :joy: For all you making food for your families, you have my deepest respect!

I’m still obsessed about food. I thought that maybe after 3-4 days… it would go away. Food cravings are still there :weary:

@Jewell Congrats to making it to day 4!!! That’s a huge accomplishment! You’ve gotten past the hardest part. I’m on day 2 and I’m feeling great. I’ve only done a 5 day fast previously so I’m curious to see what responses you get.

Becoming in tune is so true. I remember when I fasted before, I felt like the colors in nature looked so much brighter.

OMG! I live in an apartment and my neighbors baked a cake, My stomach started talking to me. lol

Happy Friday Everyone!

I’m on my 37th hour and feeling good! I hope I feel the same tomorrow. I’m updating my fasting journal. I have to clean my home so I’m going to get that done while my energy is high.

How’s everyone doing? Who has a journal for this challenge? Anybody post before photos? I’m still too shy but I think I’m gonna get up the nerve to do it.

@Van The electrolytes and herbal tea help me but I know what you mean. If you haven’t already, try some herbal tea with no sugar or anything added. Green tea and peppermint tea help me a lot.

I want to join too. Sent an email. Im checking in on day 4. i’ve done it 4 days twice before and didnt make it past 4 days. I am going to try to aim for 7 days this time!!

You need to find a new project to keep you busy so you have something to do other than think about food!! Something around the house, lots of cleaning, organizing, wash your makeup brushes, re-do your closet etc !!

hey hi im on day 3 and i m very new here on your group . LOVE from InDia. i did a mistake yesterday end up eating watermelon and muskmelon. AND i feel so bad about it .
i love your videos . u are so damn cute n a great motivator

Hope everyone is doing well! I am finishing up day 4, and am feeling slightly weird-- mentally I feel great, but I’ve been getting dizzy anytime I stand up from work (I have low blood pressure already, and am guessing it’s dropping even lower). I am overall feeling super weak-- was talking to a friend outside in the garden today, and my legs were trembling when standing up for ~45 min.

I’m taking electrolytes with my water-- magnesium, potassium, salt-- so I feel pretty set there. Anybody have some other ideas anout this? Hopefully it doesn’t get worse feeling?

I felt generally blah and weak through my whole 20 days. A lot of toxins coming out of the system. A lot of accumulated bad food. I was not surprised. I’m starting a fast again Monday. Interested to see how & if its different.

Thanks for your note, @NOLALady! I’m glad I’m in good company, with the stomach’s response to decadent foods. :slight_smile: I did swing into the local market today to buy a card for a friend, and was totally shocked that I wasn’t more tempted by the foods there. Progress?? Perhaps.

Also, glad to hear that we are both pushing to a longer fast than we have before! Will you keep me posted how you are feeling? Would love to hear.

Stay busy
Write your projects down
Stay out of the kitchen if you don’t have to prep meals for family
Keep a daily journal log of how you’re feeling! (Can do this in the daily journal section)

@Jewell I went to the grocery store too and I did not cave! Yep, that sounds like progress to me!

I sure will. I have a journal on here that’s more detailed too. It’s called "Nola’s 7 Day Water Fast Journal - May 14 Challenge. And please keep my updated on your progress and how you’re feeling I just hit 48 hours and I’m feeling great. The only thing is I cannot fall asleep and it’s almost 12 am! It’s so good to be in great company. Have a good night!
