March 23rd Starters! @Michelle

Day 3 for me. No problem except earlier I kinda wanted a cup of coffee and a time or two today I just felt like eating. But mild hunger nevertheless. The scale was down nicely so it’s all good. :grinning:

What is your routine this week? What are your goals?

After having a dumpster fire of a week full of stress, on and off poor eating, and mentally struggling to stay afloat, today I made my weekly planner spread and I’m ready to make my comeback!

:pray::pray::pray:

2020 has been a rollercoaster so far, but I still think it’s OUR year :sparkling_heart:

Today:
:white_check_mark: Workout (30min)
:white_check_mark: Cleaning
:white_check_mark: Cooking
:white_check_mark: Mandarin (60min)
:white_check_mark: Reading (30min)

Will commit to repeating this tomorrow as well! What’s your plan for the day?

All is good. A little mild hunger but no big deal. :innocent:

I’m closing in on 4 days down, at 95.25 hours now… but who is counting? :joy:
I’m still hungry. I’m hoping that goes away tomorrow so I’ll be past the toughest part. :crossed_fingers:t3::see_no_evil:

72 hours in and I am missing food so much… I have a weird habit of wanting to watch people eat and I think it will make me feel better but it doesn’t :joy::joy:. I also live with a bunch of roommates who are supportive of my fast, but still make a bunch of food throughout the day that smells up the house with amazing scents. Hopefully the next couple of days get easier!

Hang in there it gets easier soon. I got to the point where I just enjoyed watching people eat.

After breaking my fast a couple of days ago the nausea stopped but I still feel like I am coming down with something, I don’t want to wait too long to resume my fasting as that makes it harder for me to get back into it. I will restart soon and just take it day by and not put any duration/time limit to pressure myself. If you have any suggestions let me know. Thanks.

Make sure you are completely healthy before restarting.

I agree that when you re-start take it day by day with your unique situation.

Day 5:

As is typical for me for the 4th night, I didn’t sleep well last night, but I still feel fine today. Started to feel a bit off and made a glass of electrolyte water which I am sipping now.

The scale continues to drop to better numbers. Onward!

Day 5 almost ending . Having acid reflux which I never experienced before. Hunger is ok . Hopeful in completing 30 days this time because the last few attempts have been repeated failures.

I had sleep issues too last night. Felt like I was waking up every hour or so.

Thank you. I will start slowly when I’m over this bump.

Can I use Himalayan salt and lemon juice during a water fast

Himalayan salt, yes. Lemon juice, no. Because it contains calories.

Hi Yasemin and community members, I have a question. Is it acceptable to drink electrolytes during water fasting? I take Ultima electrolyte powder that is recommended by many for being zero calories and no sugar. It says it’s keto friendly and has stevia for sweetness.
I have been noticing that in my previous 2 fasts ( that I broke on day 6 each time) and the current one, I am hungry everyday . It’s day 7 today and I still have hunger pangs . Could it be because I take electrolytes daily?
But this electrolyte has actually kept me going or so I believe. Some good advice is appreciated

Yes. As long as 0 calories and 0 carbs you are fine. During my fasts I take coffee w/stevia and herbal teas which I did on my last 21-day and my current 21-day.

Thanks for the reply. But I noticed today that when I take electrolytes I am feeling hungry immediately so wondering if the sweet taste or some hidden ingredient in it is actually starting my digestion or spiking insulin.

If there is any sweetener/flavor in your electrolytes, that can “wake up” your desire to eat.

Is your hunger mild enough to ignore, or you feel more of an urge “I’ve got to eat something now!”? You can make your own electrolyte drink. Search online for recipes, including “Snake Juice”.

Mild hunger than you can ignore, you just plow past it. Hunger or appetite signals tend to come in waves. Try drinking water or unsweetened tea.

For what it’s worth, I’m on Day 7 and have had mild hunger every day. Maybe it’s related to how much weight you have to lose, or just the habit of eating, or how metabolically healthy/broken you are. Hang in there!

Yes, stevia will cause a spike in your insulin. For me, its an acceptable trade-off. I should know as I reversed my T2 diabetes in December last year.
