@Compdude I actually just looked up hot and sour soup to see how far off I was.

My soup was not as thick, but one could probably add a tad of xanthan gum instead of cornstarch. I didn’t do cornstarch either.

The recipe I just looked up suggested starting with a chicken broth. I had my chicken bone broth.

They use rice vinegar - I already had the ACV in there so that worked.

I added a sheet of seaweed, some sauteed mushrooms, a splash of toasted sesame oil, splash of soy sauce, some green onions, and some sauteed Napa cabbage. Oh, some fresh chopped ginger and my favorite Japanese pepper seasoning (shichimi).

The recipe mentioned they used garlic chili paste and said you could add egg or pork - but I had no idea what I was creating and it just fell in line.

Neighbor tasted it an agreed and loved it too. Happy accident.

Salad was delicious. Had one glass of wine and it made me feel full and heavy. Didn’t even catch a mild buzz. I’ll be moving back to vodka for the weekend I think. Was so disappointed.

Just watched something on autophagy and that bone broth will essentially stop it because of the protein.

Realizing that 42 hours fasting period in the mwf fasting schedule is cutting it short on the autophagy. Have a feeling I may be leaning towards a 3-4 day fast every week.

Reconsidering my game plan again.

Thanks for the recipe. I do my monthly pilgrimage to Costco. I may consider it. However, I only have 14 days until I start fasting again so I may want to save it for refeed.

Good Morning!

I have made it to my feasting weekend.

Yesterday I was out shopping until about 4:30 and was left with an hour and a half feeding time but wasn’t hungry.

Wound up having cocktails and eating soup later.

Up early this morning and enjoying some Italian sparkling mineral water I found at Aldi’s on the cheap. Going glass bottles from now on when I can.

Bought a lot of bone broth and frozen vegetables on my shopping yesterday. Difficult to do the fresh produce thing when I don’t know if I’ll even be eating it all this coming week. It’s just not wise to be hitting the store every day that I do eat.

Going fishing a couple of hours this morning and hope to build up an appetite. I have lobsters that need to be in my belly today.

Lol, I may explode.

Didn’t finish even one whole lobster - normally I could eat 2 no problem.

We just finished dinner, and on a second drink which may take me the next hour to finish. Actually cracked a water open.

Will have a brunch of lobster bene tomorrow and end eating definitely by 6 or sooner.

And then back to a fast but haven’t determined how long. Not going to stress. My only thing is no flavor in water and I won’t do tea or coffee if fasting.

Just bought a bunch of unripe avocado too and need to slow down the ripening or freeze or something. I was so excited to go shopping :rofl:

Need a nap.

Oh, Lobster!!! I have not had lobster in about 30 years! I know I liked it when I had it, lol…Enjoy your lovely food. I, too, bought a lot of unripe avocados for this week. Any that are ripe, when the week is over, will go to my dear son. Have a lovely Sunday.

Well I started the fasting counter as of 6pm.

I had the lobster bene on English muffin - first actual bread I had in a month. My stomach is exploding. It seemed to go nuts shortly after I had that. Had a couple of mimosas too - got full from them.

I think I’m going for 4 days, maybe 5.

Will put a fresh batch of stickies up in the morning.

I had a wonderful week. And a very luxurious weekend. Time to settle back in for the next 2 months.

A mere 10lb gain for 11 days refeed and feast.

I can definitely knock back under the 200 quickly.

Right now fast is set for 4 days and day 5 will be bonus.

Need to get my fridge cleared out again. 3 day eating windows will be a new challenge.

I was attacked by dead people yesterday.

Guilted into eating the few bites of lobster I had left from the weekend. I could hear my mother getting very upset at me letting good food go to waste. I had some lobster.

I then proceeded to have a few bites of gelato and icecream. And finish off some open cashews.

The good news, the eating was within a 2 hour window.

The bad news, I feel so massively bloated around my trunk area. I didn’t feel this fat at my heaviest. Or if I did I was in huge denial.

Day wasn’t a total failure as the eating window was minimized, but now I really want this bloat to go away as I’m feeling really uncomfortable.

I got this. It’s a baby size fast. I’m locking myself back onto the cockpit.

It’s so funny, I can handle the living. It’s the dead ones who sneak a hand out sometimes and I have to tell them to stay out of what I’m doing.

Need to meditate more.

Ok, 2 hours just made a huge difference to how I felt waking up this morning.

The bloat is going down. Had a nice talk with myself and not going to beat myself up.

I reset the fasting clock to 4 days starting from when I last ate yesterday.

Going to take some fresh photos today.

Getting myself ramped back up again.

More planning and mini goals and longer goals will be plotted out today. With prizes. Fabulous prizes.

Right now I can see a casino boat day, and an off shore fishing excursion day. Also been really wanting to go to the crystal clam mines for a day.

That last fast I did was the most productive yet unproductive thing I’ve done this year. :joy:

Going to read a book for the next couple of hours and let my laptop charge up.

Today I have some shelving racks that arrived a few days ago and going to get those assembled by the end of the day.

I got it!

My 77 day summer challenge will be to get my weight down to 177 by the end of summer (first day of Fall) and/or that BMI number down to 27.
The silly scale is reading 206.5 today. I’m actually thinking about a new scale I found on Amazon with some Bluetooth in it so it records information automatically.

Going to post up a challenge and see if anyone else wants to join. :blush:

Yes, awake at 3:34 because I’m Fasting.
204.0 is the good news this morning.

Boy was I crazy yesterday making an 11 week commitment. But I don’t see myself going anywhere for a bit longer so gonna roll with it.

It’s a doable yet challenging goal. It needs to be done though as I can’t recall ever feeling this uncomfortable around my waist.

Not sure if this is an age thing, years of letting things slip, but I was ok with it and then all the sudden it became an issue.

Thought about doing another long fast and reminded myself there needs to be a break in there. The one I did was just right. Long enough to shake things up and give me a different perspective.

Sitting on my porch area. Frogs are chirping.

I’m awake but not feeling motivated to do anything. Coffee would taste good but not without cream. I’m sipping on mineral water.

Got the old keto headache last night and it’s still there this morning but is fading.

I’ve heard the chicken feet broth brought up a couple of times now. I think I’ll have to get up the nerve to try making that. I’m in the south and always see them in the store so someone is eating them.

I bought a case of boxed organic chicken bone broth, and decided it’d be easy to make some mixed veggie bags to freeze and toss in so the veggie prep is all done for the weekends. And Sunday should be fish day.

Finally got all the avocados in the fridge.

I need to read up on these shorter refeeds. Almost feels like a bigger challenge to get nutrients back in in a short time.

I need to get some small ziplock baggies today. Ok, going to read a bit and take a nap as nothing is open for a few more hours.

45 hours in this week now and BAM I got a serious euphoria out of nowhere.

I don’t remember this specific feeling at all on the last fast.

The fasting app is suggesting I’m about to peak on HGH. I think this may be the case.:grin:

It’s been a fabulous day. The best day ever while in a fast. Felt normal or even exhilarated all day.

Went shopping with the neighbor, and we got the chicken feet. lol

Got a ton of fizzy mineral water, picked up some yogurt and salad for the weekend.

Chicken feet are cooking - it’s going to be a massive amount but going to freeze a lot and should be all set for the next few weeks on the broth.

Also just made some fresh dill pickles that will be ready this weekend as well as this other pickled thing with cauliflower, carrots, and jalapenos. Have frozen Tilapia and Salmon fillets which I hope to be able to eat on Sunday nights.

Less than 24 hours to go for this week. Wooohooo!

Onderland is back on the map. I need to get to the low 190’s I think for that to stick.

My stomach is starting to annoy me - like it’s in the way. It’s been bloating outward. May be just a water thing.

It felt like everything sucked in on the last refeed so I’ll be watching that.

Waist around the belly button today - 47 inches. Ew. Lol

I’m not even sure what a great number for that is anymore. Looks like 34" for a size 12.

13 inches to go to be added to final goals by next year.

Made it through the day!

Refeed is happening.

Started with not one but two avocados. They’re on the smaller side. A few kalamata olives, and a huge bowl of chicken bone broth soup with mushrooms ginger and Napa cabbage. Now nibbling on some watermelon.

Much easier refeed for first meal. Will see how I feel in the morning. :slightly_smiling_face:
