Day 3-healingme

Can someone chime in if we are suppose to be creating new topic with every entry? I tried to continue my old post but not sure how?

Start: Oct. 27th 3am ( I ended up eating some almonds & a granola bar before bed which is why my start time is so random…lol)
Goal: At least 5 days then reassess…

Day 3 entry: its almost 8pm here and I would say today went well. I was more tired than usual and took a 2 hr nap and woke up lightheaded. I got a pinch of salt in and that resolved my floating feeling. I had some tooth pain periodically throughout the day…nothing too noteworthy though.

Currently sipping on some green tea plain. Thoughts of food happened throughout the day as I am PMSing so I was thinking about a lot of fatty things like eating almonds, cashews, granola, and chips. Thankfully, I cleaned out my cabinets so I have no temptations. Only have an avocado that unripe, water and some stale rice crackers that I need to throw out…lol

No physical hunger symptoms yet but more in tune with spirit right now. I decided to utilize my time to create a new moon ritual. Might as well take advantage of this state and do some meditation and manifestation work…lol
All in all, trucking along…

Way to go! You are doing great. I don’t know what you are “supposed to do” I did a daily journal log, then I reply to it daily. That seems to be my best way to go about it. I started myself then convinced myself at night that I could / should stop my fast and start on Nov 1. I get in my own way. You are doing great. I restarted a few hours later, and have been doing good thus far! We just have to remind ourselves that it’s about continuing our journey. If we fall or stumble we get up and continue on to the finish line so we don’t get in our own way! You are doing great! Keep it up!

DAY 4 check in!! Whoop whooP! the fasting high hit for a few hours but started feeling tired again. I think PMSing is delaying the euphoric effect.
I really did not use electrolytes today. I will just listen to my body and see what it needs.

My dreams have been pretty interesting so far though. More vivid and I can actually remember them. Been journaling my dreams just to see what comes up for me.

Happy to be moving into phase 2 with everyone!! let’s keep up the momentum!!

So, remember the benefit of doing electrolites (sea salt) even when you don’t feel like you need it, is so that it helps keep your body healthy and prevent the imbalance. It’s like if you wait to hydrate your body till you are dehydrated, it’s too late… it’s dangerous and literally can be fatal if it is extreme enough. I actually went to the hospital for a day and was forced to stay in my bedroom for 3 days (when I was in the army) because of an extreme dehydration. It was horrible. Sooo I can tell you from experience, it’s better to take care of yourself with things like hydration, vitamines, and minerals as opposed to waiting for your body to tell you there is a problem.

What kind of dreams are you having? Last night I finally got sleep… I was dreaming about eating food… literally. LOL

Yeah, your probably right! I felt a dip in my energy today so back on my electrolytes and hydrating with enough water. I don’t think I drank much water yesterday, probably only 1L or so.

DAY 5 checkin! I’m at 116 hrs right now and feeling great after I gave myself a boost with electrolytes and trace minerals all day.
Today, the thoughts of food returned and I wanted to eat eggs & omelettes…lol Does that mean my body wants protein?? I don’t have any hunger pains or aches just all mental thoughts that I ignored! I told my body it can wait as I’m keeping on for as long as I can. The ultimate goal is 14 days which would be a new record for me.
I don’t celebrate halloween so resisting candy was easy for me and I hardly eat candy anyways besides for the occasion chocolate.

Also, today I went for a light walk around my airbnb and spent some time with nature. It felt great and comforting just allowing the energy of the grass and air nourish me. Sometimes, I wonder why our food signals slow down after the 4th or 5th day. I understand we are in ketosis but when someone eats a ketosis diet they still feel hungry so why is this different. Anyways, tomorrow I plan to get a massage and find a sauna. I think it will be good for me to facilitate more detox modalities during this time. Trying to utilize all my tools for success…lol
Surprisingly, my emotions have been pretty stable so far. I thought I was gonna be crying every day but I guess the emotional waves haven’t hit me yet…lol Well, keeping STRONG AND TRUCKING ALONG!!.lol happy day 5 everyone

As for dreams, it was just really vivid. One dream I was in this lake swimming with frogs and communicating with them telepathically.

Another dream was interesting because I was at some place that had a bunch of children waiting to be picked up for the 1st time and this lady approached me and told me where my child was. Then the child I thought was mine, wasn’t and I was led to another child that was older in age (2-3) and I was all trying to take her home but kept on making mistakes or things kept on happening that caused detours.
Im still trying to figure this one out because I don’t have kids or never had a miscarriage.
Im thinking its related to my inner child and nurturing her back home because I always tend to get distracted or ignore her too much. So, im trying to work on this during this fast as well…

Glad going back to the minerals and electrolytes was helpful. Trust me, I understand wanting to listen to your body and get your body to tell you what it needs, but particularly while you are detoxing and readjusting your eating… it is going into shock getting away from all of the extra things you put into your body regularly… for instance, if you are consuming dairy, even if it is the healthiest dairy on the market, it is still FULL of hormones as it is infant milk intended to help baby cows grow strong… I’m not suggesting you quit eating dairy… I’m just saying even the healthiest of organic dairy products cannot run away from the fact they are rich in hormones. Also, unless you are eating 100% organics (who does?) then you regularly consume extra chemicals as well… example being pesticides that are used to keep bugs from eating the plants… Soooo even if you are eating a healthy diet… your body still has a lot to detox from!

Sooo the reason we get hungry most of the time, is because of our “hunger hormone” ghrelin It is actually really cool… basically this hormone increases in the body during typical times a person eats (Which is why we start to feel hungry a little while before we would typically eat) and then decrease after these times… which is why when you miss a meal, a lot of times you will realize you don’t feel hungry after that eating “window” has closed. After about days 4 and 5 of fasting your body readjusts to your new window and you don’t have the same waves of this hormone running in your body.

A good article on Ghrelin:

A lot of fasting youtube videos talk about this particular hunger hormone. It really is a real thing! LOL Sooo that is why despite the type of diet you eat, you will still have waves of this hormone, it is triggered more by your eating patterns (because the body releases this hormone when the stomach is “empty” telling your brain it is time to eat). If your stomach is used to being empty, you won’t have as sensitive of a response to this hormone and it won’t be as strong.

Then you have to look at the fact that the longer you fast, and your body begins burning your fat storages for fuel, the hunger hormone leptin is released by your fat storages, which tell your brain you are satiated or full… so while you may be in ketosis before doing your fast and your body is used to leptin being released, I’d guess because you still eat about the same time every day, your body isn’t used to the idea of going without food, so is still sensitive to the ghrelin hormone.

That innocent energy… that love of life and everyone in it… Think about when you lost this full of life and spirit feeling (if you did), what events or things in your life contributed to the change? How did you view and react to these events that began reshaping your outlook on life?

Spending some time contemplating on these thoughts and questions may help you reconnect with your younger, innocent, & more spiritual self…

As for dairy, I don’t eat it. I noticed how mucus forming it was after a 30 day juice detox earlier this year. I tend to stick to plant based foods and alot of fresh greens, juices, and fruits. I guess u can say i eat more raw but definitely not a raw foodist.I eat a fair amount of grains (buckwheat, quinoa, millet). Ocassionally, an egg yolk or two but that’s about all the animal products i consume.

How’s your fast going so far? I need to check out your journals. Happy fasting!

Ok…stepping into DAY 8!

Today was actually a bit tough. I felt sad for most of the day and it was gloomy and cold so I couldn’t get any sunshine in to help the emotions to pass.
I have several sabotaging thoughts like " oh, 7 days is enough, you can stop now" "its better to start eating instead of using all these electrolytes…you will feel better and warmer)…

I dismissed all thoughts and cravings and continuing on. I did have random cravings for soup! Warm, nourishing veggie soup so I know what I am going to break my fast with now!

I’ve been putting together a refeeding plan because honestly refeeding is the hardest part for me. its so easy to get carry away and just start eating any and everything.
I know my guidelines are NO FREAKIN SUGAR and whole foods only. I don’t think keto is necessary for me and I don’t tend to feel good on it so i need some carbs!!

Sunday: veggie broth, kimchi, seaweed salad, 1 cup almond milk w/ 1 small drop stevia, and some sauteed spinach. Also celery juice and green powder (spriliuna, chorella, wheatgrass, barley grass are the ingredients).
I think I will repeat for at least 3 days then add more variety.

Well, heading into day 8! I probably wont check in till I hit the 200hr mark but happy fasting everyone! I will be reading and supporting others!

Forgot to add a bit of hummus with the veggies. Gotta get some fats in for proper elimination after a fast. Fats help bind all these toxins I’m brewing up and send them out the body

Sounds like a good ReFeed plan. For myself I’m planning 5 days of Vegetable Beef Soup OMAD. Reason for so long is I’m planning on finishing my current water fast at 40 days. Finished Day 12 today.

I’m about 216hrs into the fast and its officially day 10 for me!! woke up tired and groggly but the electrolytes kicked in and helped out a bit. I must say, im getting to that point of things are getting a bit surreal like im out of my body. I probably will have to do some grounding exercises a bit later because my focus and concentration are gone. I’ve been spacing out a bit and trying to stay drinking water until I can get present. Since im so far into it and feeling pretty good in terms of no headaches or muscle cramps…gonna try to ride this out till day 14. Happy fasting and we are almost there!!

Day 11 and 6:35pm here! I still in this and amazed to hitting a new record today with this being my longest fast ever!! My previous record was 10 days so i am proud of myself.

Sometimes getting out your comfortable environment helps make fasting easier and more manageable or maybe its just in my case. I had sooo many restarts back home but now its different and trying to figure out why but I guess it doesn’t really matter as long as its getting accomplished.

So, today I went for a massage for grounding and relaxation and they happened to have a scale there and decided to step on it and it said 63.45kg which is about 140lbs. I usually weight closer to 155-160. I was completely shocked at what I saw as I’ve haven’t been this small since I was battling depression and didn’t eat or bathe for days…lol

Well thankfully the fast is almost over because I don’t want to drop below 130lbs since im 6’, its not the most flattering look on my frame. I’ve been learning a lot about my shadow patterns and emotional impulses to eat during this fast though. I believe when im done fasting, I will have a much better relationship with food which is really the main goal. STOP using food to numb my emotions and sit with them and embrace them all!!!

Well, im still trucking along till the finish line but I can’t wait to eat something warm and nourishing like veggie soup! I can’t wait! happy fasting fam!! :slight_smile: :slight_smile:
