Anna’s Journal 🖤 Post 30 day water fast & refeed

First congratulations to taking 1 step closer to the finish line!

LOL. I have the same love  for potatoes! It’s why when I began my program back in August 9th I decided to do the 14-day Potato :potato: Diet to break my carb/sugar addiction. Only boiled potatoes and water. I learned the trick of 1st boiling them and then putting them in the refrigerator and then boiling them again before eating. It changes the chemical composition converting it into “resistant” starch. This type of starch is indigestible and as it passes through your GI tract will feed gut bacteria and lowers it’s rating on the Glucose Index.

Oh that’s funny, I’ve done the exact same thing, but for 10 days, and mainly to break my binging behaviour, it wasn’t that interesting binging on potatoes, even if I love them!
Starchy vegetables are great! :muscle:

Thank you for reading it! It’s really helpful to come here and gain inspiration and tips from others! :sparkles:

Day 26

Still not feeling my best when being up or walking around, so I’ve been laying down most of the day. I’m starting to get a more intense metallic taste in my mouth, almost like iron. I’ve had it every now and then before, but not as bad! It does bother me slightly since I’m so sensitive to smells and tastes now!
Not many days left now though! I’m gonna try and see if I can be a bit more productive tomorrow and do some laundry and packing!
:snowflake::christmas_tree:

4 more days. You can do it!

Interesting development though as I wonder if you’re having a detox episode.

FYI: Alipio’s Post 40-Day Workout Daily Journal is out. However, you may want to wait till tomorrow if you want to read about the 1st workout as the first 2 journal entries are about my qualifications and my medical history to give context to the workouts and my starting fitness point.

Haha great motivation! I’ve been thinking the same, because it switched pretty quickly from feeling very well to almost feeling a bit sick! I’m just focusing on trying to drink enough water and listening to my body’s signals!

Day 27

I’m feeling a bit better today, although I still feel tired pretty quickly whenever I do something. I’ve finished some laundry and a bit of cleaning at least!
I can see the major physical changes in my upper body, but I still haven’t weighed myself! I’m waiting until the 26th or 27th to do that!

I find it sooo hard to take my minerals now though, I feel sick to my stomach every time I think about taking them. I’m just forcing myself to drink it, hoping that I won’t throw up. The salt tastes disgusting at this point, but I do believe that they make me feel better while fasting, which is why I’m not just quitting them!

I got one of the nicest Christmas presents today though. One of my closest friends gave birth to a little son this morning!:heart_eyes:
No disgusting mineral supplements can take that joy away!

Day 28

Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating on the 24th! And if you’re not celebrating Christmas I hope you’ll have a lovely day! :sparkles:

I had trouble sleeping during the night so I’m feeling pretty tired! I also feel slightly nauseous. I skipped taking the minerals yesterday evening which I believe made the nausea a bit worse!
I’ll try and force myself to take them today, can’t understand how disgusted I feel about them

Way to go Anna!

This is an amazing accomplishment

By the way are those minerals useful at fasting times? Do they really make a difference?
Because a co-worker of mine is travelling to Sweden since she is from there, and maybe I can ask her to bring me a bottle.

Merry Christmas :star2:

@Anna What minerals are you taking? I only had the Himalayan salt, magnesium & potassium for needed Electrolytes. @Miko

Thank you!
They have been making a difference for me at least! It’s mainly the magnesium content in the bottle that I believe is helpful, since I can’t get access to the magnesium sulphate on its own here (only by pills which has other ingredients too). Other than that bottle of minerals I’m just taking some salt with added iodine and a little bit of sodium bicarbonate every now and then!
It makes a huge difference in my sleep when I don’t add the minerals. Those nights just turns out like this, where I get a maximum of 2 hours of rest (still interrupted every 30 minutes)!
I think everyone should do their own research about minerals beforehand though, because the body has both minerals and vitamins stored in the body that can be recycled and used, although it can definitely make the fast easier to go through, when doing a longer fast!

I uploaded a photo of a bottle of minerals from Holistic under the subject of “electrolytes and supplements” in the water fasting subject!
Like I wrote above, It’s mainly to get some magnesium since that’s the top ingredient. Besides that I take some salt (and sodium bicarbonate at some points). The salt is what’s making me the most nauseous though, even though it’s the one mineral making the most difference for me!

Day 29

I’m just laying in bed at the moment, feeling very nauseous, although I haven’t been throwing up once during the fast so far!
I had some trouble sleeping during the night even if I was exhausted. My stomach is starting to feel a bit like it usually does in the first 2-3 days of a fast, when it feels empty and slightly hungry. Maybe because I know that it’s not many hours left!

I’m gonna take the train back tomorrow morning, which I’m a bit nervous about, because I’m terrified of being stuck in a place while feeling sick! Especially if it’s gonna be crowded!

I hope you’ll have a nice Christmas Day!

I hope you have someone with you. Don’t do anything rash at this point. Like that stupid stunt I pulled on my last day when I went out to run a couple of errands on almost no sleep and almost didn’t make it back!

 for you to cross that finish line! Besides I’ve been saving up this GREAT meme to celebrate your win! :hugs:
