@Arunima so how’s your fasting going till now?:slightly_smiling_face:

Hello, I will be completing 6 days today. This is the first time when I have gone beyond 70 hours. I had headaches and fatigue till day 4, but it is much better now.

@Rithanya08 have you started your fast? How’s it going?

@Arunima That’s really great :+1::+1: keep doing… yeah those headaches are common and but we’ll come over :blush: all that…c’mon u r doing great

@Arunima I’m gonna start it tonight. This is the second time I’ll be fasting.my first one was like 7 days… that was a year ago but then I’ve gained a lot of weight . Because carbohydrates is our main food. I’m tired of hearing those negative comments. So, this time I’m promising myself to bring me out in a better form. Let’s hope for the best :+1:

@Rithanya08 ai am a rice eater too, I know how it feels. Apart from the negative comments, my bones and joints were aching badly. My highest weight was 82.5 in March, had finally come down to 75 before I started water fasting.

@Arunima and that’s a good progress that you lost weight… currently I weigh 95 kgs and that’s really too much for a teenager… right from the beginning of the quarantine I started eating a lot but now I look at the mirror and I’m not the same person now… I’ve gained a lot of weight…my friends and family say that fasting is not a good option but I believe in fasting and it does wonders.

Rice is NOT the issue. Its the consumption of refined carbohydrates. I saw studies of Asian populations whose main subsistence is rice. Its only when they started consuming refined carbohydrates that obesity and diabetes rates started climbing.

@Compdude yeah u r correct … not every product is in it’s original form nowadays.:slightly_frowning_face:

@Compdude I agree, rice has been my staple food always but yes, it is also a major source of carbs in indian diet, that’s what I meant by our diet being carbs heavy. Processed foods, sugar in various forms have wrecked havoc in our lives and made us dependent upon them. It’s really an addiction.

@Arunima yeah its really an addiction

Another example is the French with their fondness for bread and wine. As Dr Fung points out, the French have a tradition of having a “small breakfast” and until they started having McDonalds franchises popping up everywhere did not have an obesity problem.

@Arunima thank you!!

So… how do you feel right now ?

I actually got advice from @Compdude which helped me a lot in my headaches. I never really felt hungry in my fast so that wasn’t a problem for me.
