2nd Annual “March Madness” Fasting Challenge

Whys

  • lower my insanely high cholesterol
  • Burn up the fat on my liver
  • Treat my anxiety ( I have found that fasting is incredibly effective in relieving anxiety. And it isn’t addictive or linked to Alzheimer’s like benzos are!)
  • I’d like to quickly get into my car without my ass hitting the seat and bouncing me back out. Extra weight works against you when you are in a hurry.
  • Cure my sleep apnea (my mother died from that and I’ve decided that I’m not going out that way-or from liver failure for that matter!)
  • To learn to listen to my body’s needs and practice intuitive eating. Each time I fast, I get a litter more adept at recognizing my body’s cues
  • Treat my tendinitis
  • Treat my arthritis
  • To be healthier and more energetic for my very energy-intensive special needs son
  • To be able to wear what I want without too much thought.
  • Treat my IBS

How is everyone doing on day 1? I’ve been pretty productive so far today…a little hungry but nothing too strong.

@Lisalily thank you! It was so motivating to have support from all you guys. :two_hearts: So I’m glad we get to do it together on here! Also, I love your reasons, as there are so many benefits, apart from weight loss, that can be achieved with fasting!

Day 1 check in!
I am body and mind ready!

Define my WHY:
1- get my confidence back
2- lose weight
3- go back to eating healthy
4- bring my sexy back
5- SUMMER!!!
I want to wear cute clothes again!!
6- losing weight will help with my back pain and feet pain!
7- I don’t have to be conscious having my pictures taken
8- i want to feel confident and sexy being intimate with the hubs

Day 1:
I’m at the end of day 1 and was easier than I expected. Never really thought about eating.
Let’s pray time goes by fast this month.

My why:

  1. Loose weight to make exercise easier and have more endurance
  2. Healthier and lower BMI
  3. Gain confidence and less self-conscious
  4. Have a better relationship with food
  5. Improve my mental health and be more positive in general

Anybody tried fasting and working out?

@danijela.maloca for the first week, it’s best to take it easy. In the first week, you’ll get dizzy just from standing up too fast sometimes. Once you get your energy back it’s cool to do some walks and light weight workouts but you don’t want to exhaust your body. :heart:

21 hours in and 10.7 k steps so far. It’s nothing, but I survived a birthday party and fam getting takeaway and it makes me want to stay strong until the end. I DID NOT overcame this to stumble further down the road !

I’m about 20hrs in and doing okay so far, but I’m fighting emotional urges to eat due to conflict in my personal life. Fasting really makes me realize how much I use food to cope. It will be good to overcome those urges this month.
