My quick keto taco casserole. Similar to what I made before (it was my first “meat” food after my fast I recall). But I added the pork rind sprinkled on top…and winged the recipe! Thats a 9 inch pan for reference. I’ll cut up when cooled down & figure its 2 meals. It smells so goooood!
28 day water fast beginning midnight 18th May
Was in day 4 of what I had planned to be a 30 day water fast when severe vertigo came and changed my plans. Took two days off to rest, refeed and recover, and I’m jumping back in now with this wonderful community of people all doing one together! Let’s do this! I think each day around the mark of another 24 hours I will check in. Happy fasting y’all!
Pooja_Narayanan - not sure what country you are in? Hope you are in day one ok and get to day 2 without to many obstacles!!!
Anita - your a few days in front of us. Great for my mind to read your updates and know too that if you can do it I can do it. Don’t sit up too quickly if your dizzy.
ZPor - im excited too, 6 hours and 46 minutes into the fast
Tenax- what a great idea! I too hate throwing out food. I’m going to steal the taco casserole recipe . We love Mexican but I know the corn chips are no good for me. They are so moorish, like you have 1 and then you can’t stop. I actually enjoy cooking more when I’m fasting, weird hey. I will still make most breakfasts and lunch for daughter and my husband usually looks after dinner so it’s a bit different on your own. At least you have a great keto meal for after fast. I’m going to do keto omad and will spent this time reading recipes, might buy a keto recipe book, not sure if its worth it as you can get free recipes online. Need to be careful with budget as our incomes dropped due to cv19. It hasnt dropped enough to warrant support but I just need to be mindful. I loved compdudes idea for you to turn your cooking hobby into a business.
Antipodean - hope your fast has started well and uour going strong. I’ve heard restrictions are easing your way so should have more things to do to keep you distracted.
Noverturff - I saw your post on your journal about vertigo, thats a bit scary. Hope you have given your body a little break and a refeed and can get through these 28 days without any vertigo.
My internet is dropping in and out so using my phone and my font is doing whatever it likes hahaha
Mizqtpye sounds like you are super prepped and ready to go, awesome to see. I used to jump into fasts too quickly and then break them as I had not done any mental prep, then I would cycle through hating myself for not having the will power. This time my mind is so strong!! I love the idea of a goal outfit, you feel so amazing when you can fit back into something.
Shankari_Nagendran - your well and truly in the fast too, so great to see!!! Can’t wait to see updates!
As for me in now 7 hours and 16 minutes in. Just weighed myself and got the shock of a life time!! 82.1kg. I’ve put on like 10kg since I stopped training at the gym!!! Last training session was Feb 15th. My highest weight was 84.1 kg back 2 years ago.
I have to complete this. I don’t have a choice. Just got to get through!!
I want to throw away my fat clothes wardrobe for good. I usually bag my fat clothes and put in the spare room and rotate through the year as I know my weight fluctuates so much.
So far not hungry so that’s a positive. Tummy is Making weird noises tho.
I have decided to have one more refeed meal this evening (it’s 6pm Sunday night where I am) and then plan to go into the fast. I don’t want to have rushed into it without properly recovering from the vertigo episode. Thanks for the advice
Same for me, I am starting my water fast on the 18th.
I’m in too. I want accountability. I am ready for a challenge and to heal my body. Is there a group chat of some kind. The first couple days are hardest for me. I’m also going to do the fasting stickies as well
@Jessical - I’ve got plenty to distract me - I’m back in the office today and we are SWAMPED with catch-up work! I’m just sitting around the corner from my desk and having a quiet “lunch break” and catching up with email, plus having a glass of water.
At home we’ll be busy too. My man and I will be demolishing an old fireplace and chimney (our home is 120 years old and needs a bit of work!) over the next few weeks and putting in a new wood burner, plus re-lining a wall and insulating it. So that’ll keep me distracted all right!
Anyone else doing renovations throughout all this lockdown stuff?
But yes, I’m 12+ hours into the fast and going well. Feeling great, but it’s early days yet. However, I’m convinced I’m going to get over that 3-4 day hump, which has proven to be my NEMESIS in the past!
Hope you’re all feeling cruisy and ready to MASH this thing!
I have also started my fast. 2 hours in. Let’s do this !!!
