Thank you, everyone, for all your support during this fasting journey. I appreciate every single one of you. To everyone still fasting I wish you the best, take it easy, you can do this
28 day water fast beginning midnight 18th May
Day 14. Feeling bleh. Not so good but I will make it through this dayā:muscle:t3: Probably going to start my bone broth tomorrow. Feeling accomplished as this is my first extended fast. 23.2lbs gone!
Gave into 1 cup of chicken bone broth. I was feeling horrible last night and today. Still going to fast for as long as I can hold out but definitely adding in my bone broth. Wanted to update the group.
I understand @Cassandra_G, I think having bone broth is a great idea. You will still be in ketosis and fat burning. Some do a fat fast and have coconut oil etc and still lose weight. Well done and hope you are feeling much better.
Hi All, after breaking my fast after 14days, I thought ill restart and complete the fast till this weekend as planned. Iām not where I want to be in terms of loss and so I want to do this. So, Im back. Im just 10 hours in
Well done @Cassandra_G⦠Youāve had amazing loss so far.
@Shankari_Nagendran, you have done really well. If you are up for it, why not? I will be jumping back on after dinner on Thursday. All the best.
I hope you are feeling better @Cassandra_G! I agree with Overcomer, besides Dr. Fung talks about having bone broth during fasts and thatās who Iām following. I didnāt have the veggie broth I made cause it kinda made me feel nauseous, but I would if I could stomach it.
Welcome back to the fasting party @Overcomer and @Shankari_Nagendran Ok, itās not really a party, itās hard workā¦You gotta do whatās right for you and if rejoining the fast is itā¦I support it!
Iām currently on day 16, counting down the days lol. Iām not hungry, just kinda miss food is all. But I know I need to keep going because Iām still missing the carby sugary food which is what I want to avoid when I start eating again. My goal has not been met mentally which is my sign to keep pushing towards the 28-day mark.
To give me more motivation to keep going, I started trying on clothes I couldnāt fit before and found I could fit most of them which was a great feeling. Some were tight, but hey they were on and thatās the point. Itās funny because I bought a dress back in 2015 that was too small for me and I said I would lose weight to fit in it. The number on the scale was lower back then than it is today and I can still fit it now. It just goes to show that my body composition changed, not just the scale which gives me much motivation and doesnāt keep me stuck on a number.
I hope everyoneās doing well!
Woaaa well done @Mizqtpye⦠You are doing so so well!! Keep going!! Thats a great idea to use clothes as your motivation. So proud of you.
Thank you! I really appreciate the support.
On day 17! I canāt believe it. I have definitely had to rest from time to time. I am amazed that I can dig in and get the energy I need to push forward. @Mizqtpye you are my inspiration. You are a couple of days ahead of me, thank you!
Hi, i been wondering to take this challenge, but the resistance comes to me often.
What do you struggle the most when fasting? Would you consider that your election to do fasts its only for the weight benefits? Do you know a tool that mixes fasting, meditation and awareness?
No tool replaces having a strong āwhyā. From my time here and in the FB group, the ones most likely to be successful have a strong reason and as you guessed itās beyond weight loss in a lot of cases.
Thanks for sharing, and, you know a method combining this 3 elements?
iām looking to go deeper when iām on the āfasting stateā, but i guess just missing some guidance.
Not not an integrated approach, no.
Do you do any type of meditation?,
iām still in debt with Wim Hof, but also some use of cleansing through use of geometry
guess that " why " is deeper, and⦠what would you consider to be the best goal to aim when trying to achieve a mentality change about the food we ingest?
I start each day with a 5 min meditation on being grateful in my life. On my daily walk I meditate to music.
In regards to changing the mentality towards food I believe itās primarily a physical more than a mental thing. Itās rewiring the neural pathways that trigger our hedonistic syndrome overriding our natural satiety systems. Also the latest research show that HFCS fools our brain into eating more by suppressing ATP signaling which is what the vagus nerve in our esophagus tells the brain it has sufficient energy from the food consumed and to stop eating.
Thanks! would you say that a morning routine and a calendar could be keystones for a successful fasting?
Yes. Itās all about creating āunconsciousā rituals so it doesnāt allow your monkey mind to elbow its way in and derail you.
For example, when youāve lived in a place for a long time youāll notice that when you want to make a stop outside of your traditional route home and youāre not paying attention next thing you know your home.
A good example is if you read todayās entry in my current Daily Journal: S3E1 30-Day Strength and Flexibility Workout Journal.
I donāt use a calendar. I like Yasmineās Post-It system. Instead I have an Excel Spreadsheet since Iām currently doing 6-month campaigns. The last 6-month campaign ended June 22nd and the current 6-month campaign just started Tuesday this weeek. This project plan isnāt complete, yet.
