Stacias Journal

Thank you Schmidt for your kind words !! So true, OMAD is difficult for people to master (as it was for me too!) and it’s become very easy for me these days so I should be grateful for this accomplishment. :slight_smile: I think my biggest issue (that I’ve been thinking about) is my brain has been running on carbs consistently for a few years now and it seems to think we are going to die if we don’t get our daily fix :confused: (sounds like an addiction which I believe it is!)… I’m slowly lowering the carbs which should make fasting or at least (as you said) ADF doable without feeling so horrible with withdrawals… I’m definitely seeing this as a journey and taking it one day at a time, learning, learning :slight_smile:… sending you hugs too on your husbands passing today 10 years ago … I’m sure he’s super proud of all the growth you’ve accomplished!!! I wish life was a little easier sometimes !! Loves to u !! :two_hearts::clinking_glasses:

@Stacia I am with you on the using food for comfort! :orange_heart:

The carbs are the real battle for sure!!

While I was transitioning to keto and getting rid of all the processed non veggie carbs I only had one rule. If you really want it you have to make it from scratch. Since I’d been working myself to death at my patisserie my desire for bread completely stopped when I realized I’d have to make it for myself :rofl:

Well that would do it for me as I really dislike cooking !! :relieved:. I’ve managed the bare minimum raising kids but I dread being in the kitchen … perhaps it’s because I’ve never enjoyed my own cooking :slight_smile:

My cooking is better than eating out :joy:.

Well I didn’t plan this ahead of time but I’m at 40 hours fasting … :slightly_smiling_face:. Yesterday at my OMAD time (24 hours) I spontaneously thought, maybe I’ll just have a sparking water and eat tomorrow … it’s now tomorrow but we’ll see how my days goes. If I get all “full of my own rules” I somehow sabotage myself. Why do I fight with my own self? So weird. :frowning: I may just do this, go a day or two or three, eat a meal and fast again. Anything to get closer to my goal ! Happy fasting all :clinking_glasses::slightly_smiling_face:

Taking it Day by Day seems to be the secret of the people that succeed on longer fasting. That’s the right mindset! Good job Stacia on 40 hours!! :two_hearts: :two_hearts:

I think most of my fasts have started like that. I am not goal oriented. In fact, I will almost always fail to reach any goal I make so if I say I’m going to do a 10 day fast, I know absolutely I won’t do a 10 day fast. Instead, I just take it one day at a time and I do much better that way without the pressure of THE GOAL hanging over me.

Sky, that seems to work for me too … I started doing OMAD and took the pressure off me to do more, now i feel I might naturally do more? I think it’s that authority we may not like :slight_smile:… happy to see your name pop up !! Thank you and yes, I liked what you said that we’ve all failed and all had successes … I think accepting that is so freeing. I’ve been such an “ all or nothing thinker” for wayyyy too long. It’s got me no where. :slightly_smiling_face::two_hearts:

Mine, too. I LOVE to cook!!! I like to try new foods-but draw the line with: snake blood, insects, reptilian flesh, or animal brains.

I am presently reading , Never Binge Again, and the author is brilliant. He will explain why we sabotage ourselves. Important is, to be kind to yourself, and continue learning. It is all a process.

Thank you Schmidt, I’ll check out the book! I’m 64 hours into my fast ! I’ve been reading like a mad women on everything “thyroid”. I have almost every single symptom and with you mentioning it and Kyles link to the natural beef thyroid I am excited to start taking my overall health more seriously and not just freaking out over weight loss as the ticket. Thank you my friends !! Really !!! :heart: If you didn’t bring that up I never would of dove into it. I just keep taking it hour by hour … :slight_smile: Have a great day all!!

Hello all, fasted 3 full days (72 hours) and had a big meal (no wheat, no sugar) - that’s my new goal is to stay away from those… fast a few days and eat a meal again. I’m feeling pretty good about this little routine I’m getting into … hugs to ya’ll!!

@Sky Clever mindset about the one day at a time.

Its intimidating with a loong goal and it just brings out my “dont wanna” little inside child out who kicks and screams and says NO FAST, ICECREAM NOW lol

@Stacia Yeay 3 days!!

Skipping wheat and sugar is great! And 3 days 1 OMAD is super if you feel its a comfortable routine :blush: thats a lot of fasting.

Thank you Spull! Well, I’d rather do a 60 day water fast and get all this weight off me but my inner “don’t wanna do it” is hard to fight with. :slight_smile:… I’m rootung for you too !! We can do this one day at a time and eventually we’ll reach our goals!! :four_leaf_clover::clinking_glasses::slightly_smiling_face:
