Day 3 of 40 Day Water Fast

Lost another 4lbs for a total of 9. Know it’s “water weight” from depletion of glycogen stores from muscles and liver.
Did my daily walk. Went to Toastmasters meeting at Carrow’s restaurant .6 miles away. Fielded questions regarding 40-day and positive feedback on tentative book title. Committed to giving speech next week.

Day 6 of 40 Day Water Fast

Lost 2lbs today for a running total of 13lbs (9lbs water weight 4lbs fat).

Blood sugar at 69 which is a good sign as it’s stopped decreasing and is stabilizing.

Walked 1.2 miles today.

At church, helped a couple that is doing IF. They asked a lot of questions and I was happy I could answer. Also overcame a challenge, one of the congregation members threw a bunch of Halloween candy in front of me during the potluck. I just grinned, laughed at her and gave it all to someone sitting next to me.

At what day do we start loosing fat instead of water weight?

Yes. I put up that YouTube channel just for fun and to learn. I plan to use it later after I get my book published.

Congrats, Compdude. Sounds like you finally have found a plan that works. I know how frustrating it was to have your doctor’s tell you the wrong advice. Glad that you are off most of the meds and plan to get off the others. That is also one of my goals.

When I began my journey earlier this year on August 9th I fantasized about getting to my college weight. I was skeptical as a type 2 diabetic initially. But yesterday marked the halfway point, 55lbs gone, so I feel I have a realistic shot now. However, I know as I get closer to my goal weight my daily weight loss of 2lbs will slow down. So we’ll have to wait and see.

How you can do it? Today I broke my fast :disappointed: but I will start again tomorrow.

Don’t get discouraged, first of all. See if you can learn from it. After 2 months I went through a period of 4 days I couldn’t seem to get back on the Prolonged Fasting wagon. Then I stepped back and realized it was my body saying it needed a break. So I did a ReFeed of 9 days of 1 to 2 meals and then I began my current fast of 40 days. Have not had any issues so far.

Thank you so much! Actually I wasn’t hungry but I had nausea and I took vitamins, water with salt and nothing, so I ate but the thing was that I after I ate the first meal, this one wasn’t enough and then I ate more and then I had a party, such a mess :disappointed: but I won’t give up, I already started my fasting again.

If the nausea happens again check with your doctor. It could be something going on with your body you may not be aware of. Don’t fall into what I call the “Willpower Trap”. That happened to me when I couldn’t restart a Prolonged Fast. I questioned my willpower before realizing it had nothing to do with that. Let me know how else I can help!

Day 12.

Highlights:

  1. Day 12 complete. 288 hours done. 28 days to go.
  2. Lost 2lbs. Total: 25lbs (9lbs water weight - 16lbs fat)
  3. Blood sugar: 75
  4. Exercise: 1.2 miles

Notes:

  1. Attended family get-together farewell lunch for a relative returning to the Philippines. Pleasant surprise seeing my Aunt and Step-Uncle had come from Las Vegas to visit. Stayed strong and only had water. Got support and admiration for losing a total of 59lbs since I started my custom program in August 9th.

Day 15 of 40-Day Water Fast

Highlights:

  1. Day 15 complete. 360 hours done. 25 days more to go!
  2. Weight loss: 2lbs. Broke temporary plateau. Total: 28lbs (9lbs water weight - 19lbs fat)
  3. Blood sugar: 70
  4. Exercise: 1 mile walk

Notes:

  1. Felt good to break through the plateau and continue to lose weight.
  2. Last night was my toughest time so far. One of the ways I distracted myself from hunger is watching food porn YouTube vids. Before I’d fully enjoy them. But last night I watching a In-n-Out vs 5 Guys hamburger comparison and suddenly I had a HUGE craving for a Double-Double. But I got through it. LOL
  3. Feeling a bit of acid reflux in the stomach. Will ask Yaz what her solution is for it.
  4. I set up a Playlist on my YouTube channel that I call Fasting Hero Themes where I put “heroic” music to inspire me. Here’s one theme music that I used last night to inspire me:
