Nov 29th-30th or Dec 1st - Water Fasting Challenge Day 1

Hello, starting today, going for 12 days this time. I started a long fast on the 21st and broke it on the 11th day. I kinda had to, was feeling very bad, had stabbing stomach pains and nausea, blisters all over my lips. Couldn’t function. Also, I weighed in and I only lost like 4 pounds in 11 days:( how do you guys lose 20lbs in 21 days or so and feel energized all along? My electrolyte intake is good, the problem is not that. Thanks a lot for advice.

Same for me, everything you said! I was feeling great about my weight and eating/exercise habits in the summer, but colder weather came(Oct/Nov) and I let things slide, resulting in putting on a bit of weight. I also got back into the habit of overeating at night. Same goals as you.

I also don’t lose weight at first, in fact gain it (has to be water)…if I stick to it long enough I eventually see a difference, but my body is definitely atypical in how long that takes with water fasting.

Oh ok, and how long would you say it takes to start seeing results?

Feel okayish (I know dreaded nausea starts from day 5!) Only salt and water but this time I will avoid supplements in tablet forms. I am very certain they contributed to my nausea in my last 7 day fast. We’ll see.

Right now about to start day 5 - completed 92 hours

Keep my self busy with work work work - so much to do online

I Felt Nausea slightly this morning. It comes when I lie down. Maybe I should lie down elevated.

I’m on day 5 and just barely starting to notice a difference…first four days I looked bigger!

Thank you! Bummed I came short, but really liking how much my skin cleared up too on 5 short days! On day 2 now

How often do you weigh?
I try not to weigh in at all. I keep telling myself that the possible loss of half a lbs of fat a day is more or less what I see on the scale, I still find it discouraging when I see some sorry 1,5 or 2 lbs minus after a dreadfull week of waterfast  and this of course throws me off for days :pensive::roll_eyes:bottom line I really should not weigh. :woman_shrugging:t2:

I actually don’t have a scale so don’t weigh at all. I can tell easily by my appearance and more importantly, clothes.

Day 4: Been walking 45 minutes twice a day. I feel like this helps clear my head and have a better attitude in general. Headaches started yesterday which is typical for me. Overall hanging in there. Day 4 and 5 are usually the hardest for me so powering through it.

Happy Fasting

Wow! So impressive you have the energy for that much walking!

Day 3:

Feel good. Getting the mental cravings. Pushing through. Went for a 5 mile walk yesterday w/ Super steep hills so my butt and thighs are feeling today which I like. Chilling today. But need to find something productive to do to avoid breaking out of boredom. Challenging myself to do laundry instead of snack lol.

Day 9! My energy isn’t the greatest and I sleep a lot less at night but managed some walks over the weekend. I wasn’t planning this long but it took forever for it to even show any positive difference in appearance, so here I am

I’m on day 4 with one small refeed last night. It was under 500 calories and keto friendly. So I’m still in ketosis. I lost a pound from yesterday’s weigh in. This refeed helped and I might add another day to fast.

Thought I’d weigh in (ha, ha!) - I started Dec 1 and fasted until last night, 3 hours short of 7 days. I found I was having really anxious, obsessive thoughts about food so figured it might be wise to stop while I was able to maintain control (of what I would choose to eat). Had a couple of smokies and sauerkraut, will do my chicken popper casserole for today, and will start again this evening.
