Misnomer: So It's Really "Saltwater Fasting" Or "Electrolyte Fasting"

I guess you could just drink only water (and some people dry fast a little bit), but it seems like the more accurate phrases are something like “salt water fasting” or “electrolyte water fasting” or “water fasting with supplementation” or something like that.

Some kind of name change for me I think of as helpful for really describing more of what I would be trying to do.

Water fasting is not taking in nutrients. Your body still requires water and electrolytes. The point of fasting is not to hurt your body , but to let your body digest unwanted fat and detoxify. Having salt with water is not drinking salt water. Most of the water you drink is regular water. I don’t think you would last long drinking salt water. If you don’t want to have electrolytes you don’t have to, but you will start cramping.

It’s water fasting with optional electrolytes like sodium/magnesium/potassium!

You don’t NEED to take it, which is why it’s called water fasting. Many people do it pure water only.

My first 14 days of my first fast were water only, but now I occasionally take some sodium/potassium/magnesium if symptoms arise!
