Mandy,

It is like Heaven when the feeling of Hunger passes! And then every day is the Same… no Hunger! It’s a bit Boring when posting because every day is the same as the last; but the Goal is before you and that pushes you on.

How many Extended Fasts have you done? I have only done the One extended fast but it was So Easy and so Successful that I am determined that I am going all the way to 21 days for Sure. Actually, I have 2 1/2 weekends to go. The first is Next Weekend (I am no Counting this one since I Started on the weekend). So, Next weekend is Weekend No. 1… Then 1 1/2 to go. The week goes so Quickly that in no time, I am at the weekend again.

I hope to see you soon.

But my ghrelin kicked in when my sister was having a burger and fries…Controlled myslelf so now feeling like a kickass winner hehe!

This journey is 95 % mental and 5 % physical… If you are able to control your mind, you are the winner.
I hope to stay motivated throughout.

Hi Kay,

How long was your extended fast? It wont be much difficult as you have fasted before. All the very best for your extended fast.

I completely agree, It feels so good when you’re able to make decisions instead of your stomach.
I am obese since last 10 years. I have struggled so much with my weight when I tried all kinds of diets and workouts…

Although I have done a 14 day fast many years back, I was not able to continue or start another one on account of my university and schedule.

When I used to go to bed (until last month) I used to get cramps and tingling sensation on whichever side I slept, and a high BP (borderline) was a wake up call when I decided to take up water fasting seriously.

Now it feels so good, I’m energetic throughout the day, blood pressure is improving and the I can sleep without any discomfort. Cramps and tingling sensations are completely gone.

I am planning to visit hospital and get myself checked every fortnight so that there’s no deficiency of any sort.

Health is more precious than anything else in the world.

Lots of love,
Mandy

Much Success to you, Mandy. Are you fasting Now?

Kay,
Thank you so much Kay for your support and encouragement!

Yes. I’m still fasting. However I’m physically weak today. Had a little light headedness in the morning which became alright in a couple of hours. I did not face this problem last time I did extended fasting. I did not work out today.

During the day I was able to concentrate better on new books that ive started studying. Overall, I can say, my sleep quality and concentration has improved.

My sister was the one who first started fasting and inspired me to fast. She lost over 30 pounds and is healthy ever since. To maintain , she does 1 month keto in every 4 months and that works very well for her. My sister and mother are both so proud of me

There are times when the going gets tough but I try to defer it for next 2 hours. In those two hours I pick up something that keeps my mind off the hunger. In two hours, ghrelin drops and the feeling of hunger goes away. It has worked for me so far. I hope it helps in the future as well .

How is your fasting going on?

Day 7
Weight :91.9 Kgs

Things I had during the day:
Multivitamin
Black coffee with zero calorie sucralose
calcium
vitamin c
Salt
Water
ACV

Workout: No workout

Remarks:

  1. Light headedness in the morning (I dont know why. Any idea? please comment and let me know)
  2. Physical weakness: Could not workout.
  3. Improved concentration: was able to study throughout the day (which is so unlike me )

Doubts:

  1. Can I add bone broth during water fast? Does it break the fast?

Anything with calories breaks a strict fast. If tempering it with Broth helps with the weakness and doesn’t encourage you to temper it the next day, I think it’s worth it, especially if you need the strength for an activity. Remember that this is for You and it is for the long haul. This is a Marathon, not a Sprint. Also, Electrolyte Water is better than water alone.

Kay,
Thank you so much for your guidance. I had bone broth . I have ordered electrolyte without sugar. Feeling much better now

Day 8
Weight :91.5 Kgs

Things I had during the day:
Bone broth (2 cups)
Multivitamin
Black coffee with zero calorie sucralose
calcium
vitamin c
Salt
Water
ACV

Workout: No workout

I make my own Electrolyte Water: About 20 oz. water; about 1 TBS Xylitol (good for your Teeth and your gums, Bones and just about everything else… I just got another “No Cavities” check-up from the dentist… Xylitol in my Water!), 1/4 tsp Potassium Chloride (“No Salt” from walmart), 1/4 tsp Sodium Bicarbonate (Arm & Hammer). That’s it. Cheap and Easy. When the cup is empty, I make another.
