Looking for a 3-day water fasting partner for next week

Hi! Honestly your message just gave the encouragement needed for today - it’s not that I want to eat, I am just feeling miserable and super low energy- like getting out of bed is a struggle.

In 2019 a tree branch broke off a tree and fell on my head before breaking a table in front of me, I had/have a lot of issues since then including a herniated disc in my lower back. I have been told that doing a fusion on my back is my only hope but I’m refusing at this point to operate on my back, I’m in my 30’s and don’t want a fusion to implant the rest of my life if there is other ways to heal it. That is mostly the motivation for the fast - to see if my body can’t repair it. That might also be where the leg pain is coming from - I don’t know, but it might be a possibility.

Also weight loss, after my injury I picked up so much weight and was taking hormone therapy in 2021 to try and conceive, we decided to take a break on that, that also made me gain so much weight - so I definitely need to lose the weight to get some of my self confidence back. I have only lost about 2 kgs in the 4 days - is that normal? Was hoping for a bit more as it just seems as water weight? I know I should be patient but just curious why is such a small amount?

Hey, good to hear from you! That’s rule no 1, Imo. We’ve all got to come around to knowing, and I mean knowing, that fasting is good and normal and better than eating as a lifestyle. It takes a while. And you’re starting early anyway. Keep writing!

I kind of want to challenge you on the “water weight” idea. As far as I know, fasting: lowers blood sugar --> which lowers insulin --> which lowers water in the blood --> which lowers blood volume --> which lowers Blood pressure readings. I think there’s some other pathway that kicks in where our cells increase their use of fat stores. That might be what you’re describing. But for me, I directly benefit from lowering my water content for better blood pressure readings and I love that direct feedback that low water means low insulin seeing that it’s that insulin that needs that water to do its insulin thing.

Ahhhh that sounds awful!!! So sorry you had to go through that insane injury! :pray: We can manifest some healing, and believe that the fast will heal you and tell your body that it is a strong, capable healing machine!!! :sparkles::sparkles::sparkles:

In terms of weight loss, the best perspective to put it in is - it didn’t take 4 days to put on the weight, so it’s crazy for us to assume that we will lose SO MUCH in 4 days!!!

I roll my eyes every time someone says to be patient, but after 18 months of consistency and up and downs, and about to hit that -100lb mark this week - we just really have to remember PATIENCE & CONSISTENCY - the up and downs and relapses, and good days and bad days, and carb days and fast days and sugar days, and bloated days and water retention days and hormone days and comfort eating days they will alllllll happen whether we like it or not, so we need to give ourselves TIME!

At the end of the day, a big portion of the “weight” lost at the beginning of a fast is water weight anyway so better we don’t focus on how fast the scale goes down because it’s not the actual fat loss anyway!!!

The rule of thumb is - we are not aliens, therefore we need SOME SORT of fuel/energy to function and if we are fasting and not consuming calories then our body NEEDS to be finding an alternative source of fuel! (The gourmet meal on our body aka fat stores!!!) If it is not consuming our fat stores, then that means we as humans are functioning off no fuel, which means that our body can function without a source of energy and that alone will solve the world’s energy crisis :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::joy: so I promise you, we are not aliens, don’t worry about the scale too much, your body is cannibalizing those fat stores and fat cells like a little Pac-Man in our bodies!!! Patience and my favourite quote “Trust the Process”:woman_in_lotus_position:t3::smiling_face_with_three_hearts::pray:

You got this :fire::fire::fire::heart_eyes: Just keep on going and keep checking in!!!

Also in terms of conception for the future: manifest that too!!! Manifest it! Cutting sugar is a BIG way many people end up conceiving in the long run, there’s this whole phenomena called “keto babies” where people cut sugar for a while and BOOM !!! So keep manifesting!!! We have people in our community who are super fit and took a while and finally their time came :pray::smiling_face_with_three_hearts: yours will too, sending some much love and baby dust for when you’re ready to try again in the future!!! :sparkles::woman_in_lotus_position:t3: IT WILL HAPPEN :heart_eyes::sparkles:

Few mantra’s for us to keep repeating daily are:

  • Pre-Conceptoon Fast
  • Trust the process
  • Be patient
  • Manifest everything that you want
  • Tell yourself “I am lucky, and everything will work out for me” (Law of Attraction is powerful)
  • The weight will come off it’s a bonus
  • My body is a self-healing machine if I give it the time/space/resources (fasting / no sugar) that it needs in order to operate and function at its peak performance

This is the importance of writing everything down and identifying our WHYS!!!

It’s currently 4:30am - Having a little bit of sleeplessness but I remember that it’s all worth it in the end - and remembering my WHYs keeps me in bed rather than jumping into the kitchen for a middle of the night snacky snack :joy::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Day 4
I’m not hungry at all, the idea of eating is more attractive than the eating it self - so staying out of the kitchen - don’t get me wrong I can eat, the thought makes my tummy growl - but it’s not that I’m really hungry.

My pains are still very prominent, pain is focused on my lower back moving into my lower legs. I’m having my salt, magnesium and ACV - so hoping tomorrow might be better.

Energy is low low low - but having a day in bed and tomorrow will be better - I can feel it!

Still going strong morning of Day 4. I haven’t broken the fast. It’s been hard a few times and been thinking about food quite a bit yesterday but seems a little better today. I was planning to do a 3 day fast but now that I’m on day 4 and it’s easier I might push through for another day.

I think next time I need to tell myself I’m doing a longer fast otherwise it’s too easy to say yeah I made it 3 days so I can eat now. It seems a lot of benefits come after the 3 days.

I’m down about 10 pounds this month. I’m feeling pretty good right now, hoping that holds up. My sinuses are clearer than they have been in awhile so it seems inflammation is coming down. My brain seems to be clearing up too and I’m starting to get some energy, yesterday I had no energy all day and didn’t accomplish much.

I measured my blood ketones yesterday and was only at 0.7 which seemed low for 3 days fasting. Going to check again today because the urine strips this morning were looking closer to 1.5.

Checked ketones day 4. Blood ketones 1.1 this morning. Urine strip at 1.5 at noon.

I’m going to have a small high fat meal this afternoon. Probably 2 eggs and chicken sausage. My next fast I think I will be going for 5-7 days and will do it in February.

Broke the fast at 92 hours with MCT oil in coffee followed by 2 eggs sunny side up and 3 chicken sausage with <1 g carb. I don’t have the desire to eat a ton of food which is good but I definitely had a desire for some food. Planning to do bison steak and veggies for dinner with avocado oil.

That’s the longest fast I’ve ever done. I plan to keep doing at least 1 fast per month and pushing the length.

Day :two: for me at last!

Seems like it dragged lol. Day 2 is normally quite hard with hunger but since it won’t kill me I will have to keep telling myself that.

10 days to go til the end of the month, we can still achieve a lot so let’s go :pray:t4:

Broke yesterday (barely) for CNY :red_gift_envelope::sparkles::rabbit: today was a fasting day (day 1) - tomorrow is day 2!
