Hey Stacia!
So far, so good, day 3. I’ve thought about you as well. Hows your fast going? How long are you aiming for?

Found a good watch on Youtube. His name is Peter Attia. He’s a doctor and talks about fasting and re-feeding. Really interesting watch if you get the chance. Just search his name for different videos.

Day 3 of 5

Total Weight Loss 3.5 lbs. Going slow this round.

Have a good day fasters!

You might want to join the Winter Solstice Challenge Miramar created? I’ll be mixing, OMAD, ADF and 3-5 days fast throughout the next three months. Put it all in a planner today. It’s under the “Challenges” tab.

Day 4

Broke with an OMAD after I had to get a Blood Draw today.
I’m sure it was psychological more than anything. Convinced myself it would be awful to fast after having blood removed.

Oh… and my Doctor’s Scale LIES. It said I was 162.

@Kyle - You’ve done so well! :tada:

I will also be going onto OMAD once finished with my 21 Day fast - just 3 days to go.
With all the festive days, office and club parties etc. coming up it would be difficult for me to keep with any multi-day fasting plan in the next 3 months.
I have a doctor’s visit scheduled on my first ‘refeed’ day next week, … will be interesting to see what I weigh in the consulting room

Hi Kyle! Just checking in to see how you are doing ? I am reading everyone’s posts everyday and it’s helping me so much. I’ve been very consistent with OMAD since I stopped my last fast and am proud of that… trying to gear up to do some water fasting … getting closer … I’m out here rooting for you and everyone here! :two_hearts:

Hey Stacia!

Did an Omad today and fasting again until Monday (48 hrs).

So happy OMAD is going well for you. It really can be a great tool! As long as we don’t go back to the old ways of eating junk all day we should see the scale going down. Slow and steady will win the race!!

Thanks for popping in!! :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Did OMAD the last two days. Since I’ve been keeping my fasts short 48-72 hrs, I’m experimenting with dry fasting. Read a lot of articles and watched some videos on it. Not recommending to anyone else… just trying it out myself.

Weight today 159 lb. Did I mention I’m 5’6? Not sure I ever gave my height… The scale has been stubborn recently. I wonder if my body is getting too accustomed to my routine or perhaps I’m going to heavy on the carbs during my ReFeeds. The scale is still going down from my highest weight (about 168-169 when I started journaling).

For some reason Fall and Winter are so much easier for me in terms of weight loss, I think because it’s my favorite time of year. Historically, I’ve always put on more weight in the hot months (bizarre, I know).

I started cleaning out my ugly, big girl clothes today (mostly undergarments). I will need to continually purge the clothing as I go down, otherwise, I feel like I have permission to get big again if they are hanging around. They really are ugly clothes, so, it’s not a loss (in a fashion sense).

I’ve been watching a lot of ministry (II’m a Christian) and reading my Bible more lately. I think part of my comfort eating is a need to fill a spiritual void. I’ve not been practicing my faith for probably the last year and I feel it. Interestingly, my desire to do an extended fast is for spiritual reasons (like Jesus had done) yet I wasn’t spiritually preparing myself as I should have. I still desire to embark on a long fast. Working my way to that point now.

Well… that was my LONG WINDED update! Hope everyone is doing well, Fasting or Feeding!

Kyle what a great post!! I just committed yesterday to my sister in law to reading the Bible everyday ! I have a huge prayer life (multiple times a day) but I definitely feel it when I don’t focus on being filled spiritually (and just praying out of fear)… beautifully said and I think it will help us to rely more on God and less on food. I also eat more in the summer!! Ive dreaded summer this past few years, weight gain, too hot, too bright out … lol… I love the fall and winter too!! I’m rooting for you everyday !! Let’s keep pushing forward and chucking those “chubby” clothes right out the door.

I had my head in a very good place when I started my longest fast. I think many trip themselves up thinking they’ll just hop in and stick to it. After several days your head will go through a lot of thinking.

While I have enough fat to sustain me for a 40 day, I got what I needed out of the 17.5 day, and don’t think I’d ever need to exceed a 21.

If you’re going to do the longer fast you may want to schedule that sooner vs later. Keep in mind, holidays and events are going to be coming up. And while it’s possible to not eat at those things it could cause triggers.

Look at a calendar for the next few months.

Totally relate to “praying out of fear”… there was a couple years a while back of nothing but “God help me” prayers nonstop. God did help me. It took a while… it wasn’t overnight but those particular struggles lessened immensely.
For some reason, I have not thought to dig in spiritually about my dependence on food until recently. I’m a terrible “closet eater”. I NEVER like to eat in front of my friends or family. In my mind, if no one saw the way I ate then it wasn’t really a problem. But God always sees. There’s no “closet eating” when it comes to God. Getting real about all this stuff will hopefully start the healing process.
Funny that you also gain in the summer! My friends would say ‘I can’t eat _______ (heavy meal) in this heat’. Hahaha… I have never had an issue with turning down a heavy meal on a hot summer day! It can be 100 degrees and I will go for the heaviest meal on the menu.

And YES… We will keep pushing forward. Moving into our destiny!!

I see now how continued shorter fasts help prepare for the longer fasts. I didn’t wrap my head around it before… now I get it. You are absolutely correct about planning it for sooner rather than later. I am thinking the end of Sept (about 2 weeks from now) will be my “go” date for a 21-40 day fast. I have no plans until mid November, so that would be the best timing.

Ha! I too can eat a huge hot cheesy meal no matter how hot it is outside ! Lol. Never stopped me once … I hear that too “oh I just can’t eat much in the summer”… I’m like “uhhh… then give me your plate also!” Haha. Although I too am a 100% binge eater when “alone” person. I can easily eat a normal meal in front of people all while dreaming of what I’ll eat when I get alone. :anguished:… not proud to admit but that’s been my life for awhile now… we can get through this!! Your doing great my friend!! :two_hearts:

Good morning everyone!

So, I already had an OMAD for today and wanted to share something I found and LOVE for all you low-carbers out there.

I really wanted Hamburger Helper Cheeseburger macaroni for my meal… I know, it’s not appealing to many but I have fond childhood memories of it and never eat it. Anyway, I bought a new pasta a while ago off Amazon from the Great Low Carb Bread Co. The pasta is made with Pea Protein. It’s NOT Keto but it is Low Carb and it’s AMAZING. It tastes JUST like “normal” pasta. I have bought so many “Low-Carb” or “Keto” products , super excited for the idea of them… then I try them and am completely let-down and angry about wasting so much money.(by the way, Cereal School “Keto” cereal tasted terrible, in my opinion) This pasta is the real-deal. Now… it’s not cheap! It’s about 3-4 times the cost of wheat pasta, so keep that in mind. I substituted the pasta from the Hamburger Helper Box, used the cheese packet (which isn’t “healthy”, btw) and used about 2 lbs of lean ground beef instead of one lb. I’ll be having this for a few days!

I’m not Keto and not 'technically" low carb… but I know I am insulin resistant and cutting carbs is definitely something I need to do in order to see the scale move. Anyway, I wanted to share my find with you all that also struggle on the “carb” side of things. Net Carbs 7G, Protein 12G Per serving. 51kPRP1XNML

Also, I am started an Extended Fast on Sunday! Starting September 20 w/21 days (Until October 11) and possibly going to 30 or 40.

Hope everyone has started off with a good Monday!

Happy Fasting or Feeding, Friends!

Love your pasta replacement.

But now we need to get your spice cabinet in order because I would hate to know how many chemicals are in that packet you used.
