Keto Flu & Water Fasting

So I have a question… I entered ketosis according to my sticks … Does this mean I have finally practiced enough to not have keto flu symptoms…? I believe every fast is different. And I mean my period makes fasting BRTUAL. I also believe more sugar, harder time to get to ketosis and more dramatic side effects from phase 1. I’m almost over day 3, about hour 70. But, idk I never had the sticks before so I didn’t REALLY know when I hit ketosis. I’m in pretty significant ketosis right now too, super dark. I am using the potassium and magnesium this time too so maybe that’s why… ? I am in love with the idea, but kinda curious if it in ketosis, do you get keto flu still? Or does it have more to do with cleansing and less to do with the actual ketosis?

Keto flu is something you get while transitioning to ketosis. So the fact that you are already in this ketosis means you won’t get keto flu. But you can still get headaches. So keep ur self hydrated and keep taking those electrolytes. :grinning:

Exactly! You’re already in ketosis, generally it’s the first 2 weeks that people start a keto diet that they feel those symptoms. Water Fasting accelerates the process of entering ketosis, and since you seem to be already in ketosis, then looks like you dodged it!

Also if your diet is carb/sugar heavy beforehand, it definitely makes it WAY more difficult, that’s why I always recommend for people to ease into it!

Example:

  • Step 1 - Two meals a day, skip breakfast - no snacks just lunch and dinner
  • Step 2 - Transition to OMAD in a caloric deficit
  • Step 3 - OMAD + Low-Carb
  • Step 4 - OMAD + KETO
  • Step 5 - OMAD + KETO + 2-3 day water fasts
  • Step 6 - Extended WATER FASTS
