Welcome to our fasting community. I’m the resident “graybeard” due to the fact I’ve completed the longest water fast which was 40 days and as a result became “medication free.”

Feel free to ask any questions.

Thank you so much!

Thanks, but I build up my fasting muscle first. I started with 14 days to break my carb/sugar addiction, then 11 days of IF, Time Restricted Eating and OMAD, then progressively longer Water Fasts (4,5,& 7) before tackling the BIG 40.

Just remember its a journey. You’ll hit speed bumps and learn “lessons” along the way. Keep your eye on the prize and you WILL get there.

Here’s a bit of additional motivation for you:

The morning of Day 4! I got up early and met with a trainer to work out. I did an hour with lots of rest. It was good!
My body feels different but i am not able to describe how, other than i have blurred vision and a calm spirit.

Monitor your energy levels closely. Fasting by its nature is stressful for the body. Don’t overload it with the additional stress of too strenuous a :weight_lifting_woman:.

I did an analysis of all the members who participated in the last 2 fasting challenges. #4 on reasons of failure to achieve a fasting goal was not cutting back on workouts. Check out PinkLilCar’s Daily Journal where she just completed a 7-day fast.

Personally the most strenuous exercise I did was a daily 1 to 2 mile walk. If you have any specific workout questions you ask me. I’m a former CPT with 5 years experience and held certifications with NASM, ACSM and AFAA.

Day 2 is done and I resisted temptation by lifting weights. Nothing to hard just a little resistance just to take my mind off food . C’mon day 3 I’m ready for ya

Thank you for this. I am doing light exercises but this fast was about breaking bad habits and one of these bad habits is not waking up to go to the gym. So i think doing the motions over these 3 weeks will help me.
Of course, everyone isnt the same.

Day 5 - I had a much better time at the gym than i did yesterday because i was feeling more energetic. I had 3 ounces of Coconut water because i personally believed it would not affect my results and it was a natural source of electrolytes that i lost.
My 21 days are to create new habits and break old ones and i am planning to do Keto OMAD for two months after breaking this fast.
