Hello Yasemin,
I have a very stressful job and when I am water fasting I get faint and weak during my work and sometimes unable to break away to drink water or take a little salt which is in my pocket. My last encounter I almost fainted during my work. I am a nurse rushing and running constantly some days. I don’t like the idea of not being able to water fast during work days. Do you have any suggestions. I do want to be successful. My goal is to do a prolong fast…trusting…40 days.
Thank you for your encouragement and help.
Clarice

Hey @Compdude, sorry for the newbie question but how do you know how much is water/fat? Thanks

When you stop eating the body will turn to its glycogen (stored carbohydrates) in your liver and muscles. It’s what keeps your body from starving at night. It takes 30 to 40 hours to exhaust the glycogen in your liver before turning to your muscles. Because I walk daily I speed that process along.

The glycogen molecule is 3/4ths water. When it’s used for energy it releases the water, hence the term water weight. From experience, I lose an average of 3lbs the first 3 days (the water weight).

Then a day of 0 to 1lb loss which to me is the transition to Ketosis then a slower rate of weight loss of 2lbs/day then later slowing to 1lb. Since glucose (derived from carbs) is preferred by the body since it’s easier to burn it will exhaust that before turning to fat.

I also invite you to read my NEW Daily Journal, S2E2 21-Day Water Fast Journal. I’m finishing Day 6 of my NEW 21 day water fast.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi Clarice, have you tried slowly building yourself up to longer fasts? I would maybe try practicing every week with some shorter ones and then moving on to longer ones afterwards once you feel very comfortable! Last thing we would want is for you to pass out :sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart::sparkling_heart:
