So I tried fasting for one day, the hunger was unreal and I couldn’t sleep
How do you guys deal with this kind of issue from your expereicne?
Insomnia while fasting
It can be very difficult, but my approach to it is to try and not stress about it. You’re body usually have more energy when fasting and I’ll try to get some sleep or rest whenever I can, even if it’s not during the usual hours!
Some nights can be a full nights rest and other nights no sleep at all!
Many people take magnesium before bed, which can make it easier to fall asleep!
Yes, unfortunately I tried everything…500mg magnesium, salt, and also exercising AND 10mg melatonin to knock me out, but I still couldn’t sleep. I honestly value sleep over speed, so I started doing OMAD. My body is extremely sensitive to lack of food (especially carbohydrates) before sleep. I am on the “lighter side” though. I am 5’5 and 134lb and I used to be 120lb. I am trying to get back to 120lb.
Sometimes when I can’t sleep I listen to: sleep with me podcast. It has enough of a story line to distract me from the things that spin in my mind, but it is boring enough to put me to sleep.
I just added activities that I’d been putting off. It had the added benefit of lessening stress by knocking items off my “to do” list and when I finally felt sleepy, slept better.
