@Miramar
Sorry to find you have the unfortunate side-effect of insomnia when you fast. I’m lucky to have the opposite. I hope yoy get some good sleep tonight
I'll just take a seat here for a while
Hey Miramar,
Checking win to see how you’re doing? From reading your posts, I see you had a challenging couple of days. Hang in there. We’re in this together.
Good Morning!
My personal pity party is over and I do believe I’m back on track this morning.
Lots of thoughts running through my head this morning.
Have the news on in the background, and just saw a story about a lady who is struggling with being unemployed, not getting her unemployment, having kids to feed, having to get her box from the food pantry, her feeling like she’s not eating as healthy because of it. She feeds the kids and finishes their plates. And then they shared a photo of her from her old job and she was thinner and much better complexion.
And then saw a current profile in the video and she has gained a lot of weight. And I just wanted to reach into the TV and tell her she can save the best of the food for the kids and she can just fast to get that stress weight off which didn’t look good at all.
And I meditated and realized how blessed I am and also reaffirmed I still have a lot of work to do - not just the weight goals but other things I’ve been putting off. And I slipped back into spending too much time at the neighbors apartment and need to keep my butt home, lol.
So the new list making has started. I bought a new giant calendar last week and need to stick it on the wall.
Putting the Gaia channel on today to play in the background and going to stay away from the “news” as that has been throwing me off.
I’ve been watching Little House on the Prairie for weeks now… lol. Turned off the news many months ago. Too much stress! Glad you are back on track again.
You sound well!
I’m doing 21 days. Just decided.
Very excited about it.
That’s great! I’m glad you’re feeling more positive today
Good (way too early in the) morning!
Finally kicked past general day 7 and on day 2 of the new and improved 21 day fast.
I’m in the process of buckling my seat belt for this quick trip.
Today is making more kimchi day! It takes a few weeks before it achieves full flavor. I have a napa cabbage head that needs to be used up.
Yesterday I discovered amber ball jars in 32 oz.
I ordered them - should be helpful in future fermentation. They were silly expensive but it’s impossible to find any ball jars let alone amber wide mouth and 32oz.
Laying in bed and I can hear my hermit crabs shuffling around.
Might have to stay up and nap later.
Just when we think we’ve seen all little house episodes, magically another one appears.
You passed the day 7 milestone - impressive! You can do this
I know, wouldn’t let myself pull that 7 down or cut it as a half day.
On day 2 of 21 in a row.
Fell back asleep. Had a dream I broke the fast already. And had a dream I had a bald spot on my head.
And I thought my dreams were strange lol.
Day 2 almost done.
I actually made cake with a neighbor and kimchi today - no hunger cravings. Need to remind myself to check the kimchi in about 3 days. I put it in the microwave to store it. Too many bugs otherwise will be all over that.
I tossed a piece of cabbage into the hermit crab tank and forgot to close the door Didn’t notice for a few hours and have no idea if some of them decided to take a walk. Hopefully they just ignored it.
Slight dull headache in the back of my head - just kept busy and didn’t feel it until now.
Still having BM.
I think my body knows what’s up. My stomach is feeling bloated and slightly uncomfortable - like it knows I’m going hardcore for another long fast and that visceral fat is clinging on.
I’m feeling hot but neighbors say they feel hot too so I think the humidity is just rising.
Going to try to stay awake a few more hours because the 3:30 am wake up is resuming itself. If I go to bed in the next hour I’ll be wide awake at midnight.
Don’t feel like I’ve even started fasting yet. I’ll take that as a good thing.
Wishing you well
Good morning!
Way too early.
Was sleeping, and woke up around 12:30 and an old friend texted and next thing you know I’m on the phone for 3.5 hours with her until her husband started freaking that she was on the phone so late.
At the beginning of day 4!
Scale is beginning to cooperate again.
I had jumped before this fast up to 184.5 and just 3 days I’m back down this morning to 174.5.
Still having bm’s.
I remember some of the 5 day fasts having bm’s every day.
I think I’ll feel cleaned out for the most part after day 8.
Going to take a nap for a few more hours.
Awesome that Day 4 is done… if you figure out how to hack the sleep patterns pls pls let us know! Now hopefully the hard part is done and scales are working in your favor… so it’s easy coasting ahead or at least easier! Congrats!
I encountered the same sleep issues before.
I’ve just come to embrace it as I feel like optimum fat burning is going on.
I’m on day 4 today.
I just woke back up and down yet another lb to 173.5 - only 2.5 more to get to my 171 which is the lowest I’ve seen.
This drop is looking amazingly like the original fasting drop I had. I must have been having a lot of water retention going on.
I’m low on my bottled water so going out for that today. Hoping to find my brand on sale. No fluoride or crap in the processing.
169.5
A new low!
My mid section still.feels huge.
Here’s some size 14’s I got at a yard sale. They are on the smaller side of 14.
Don’t mind my bed hair🤣.
Had a good day yesterday. Ended the night with husking a bunch of coconuts.
Opened one. Saved the water. Gave the meat to a neighbor who is going to shred and toast some for something yummy.
It was the first time opening from scratch. I have 8 coconuts. I will need to make a decision soon - may use them to make my own cold pressed coconut oil.
Today however I have plans to visit a friend and help with her apartment. She’s an hour away and I have an estate sale to hit on the way as well.
I LOVE your food ambitions! One of the first times I was opening up a coconut (in culinary school) I almost chopped a piece of my body off with a small hatchet
Coconut oil- god speed! Have fun! It’s a lot of work for just the tiniest bit of oil, however, I have found the more we do from scratch (if only once or twice) the more gratitude we have for that product in the future. It also makes eating less and more mindfully much easier. I get to thinking, OMG, not too long ago it was an insane amount of work just to make a loaf of bread.
I still need to cook up a batch of sand fleas at some point (aka mole crabs).
I can actually rake them myself on the beach.
They can get fried up, and I think they’re supposed to be crispy like a softshell crab.
It’d be amazing to catch some, and fry them up in coconut oil I’ve made.
Pompano season I think is coming.
It’s empowering when you know you can hunt and gather your own food.
