Hely's Daily Journal

About me:

I am Hely and I’m 27 years old from San Jose, California. I’ve pretty much been overweight my whole life but when I got in my relationship and switch to an administrative job, which was when I turned 24, my weight skyrocketed over 200 lbs. For a 5’2 short gal like myself, over 200lbs gives a lot of stress to my back and overall health. I’ve fasted before but I’ve never went longer than 4 days until now.

Why fast?
I want to fast mostly to discipline myself take control of my actions. I’m tired of not moving from the weight that I am. I want to feel confident and also wear clothes I never was able to wear before. I do love myself and because of that I want my body to heal aswell.

Plan:
My plan is to finish the fast I’m currently in. I’m currently on Day 4 and going strong. I’m going to end this fast on Day 5 or depending how I feel. I might continue into Oct 27 and finish of with 10 days we’ll see.

Short term weight goal: 200lbs
Long term weight goal: 135lbs

• Height: 5ft 2 inches
• Starting Weight: 235lbs before Oct 21 fast
• Current Weight: 224lbs Day 4 on fast

Measurements:
• Neck: 17 1/2 inches
• Bust: 49 inches
• Abdomen: 46 inches
• Waist: 50 inches
• Thigh: 31 inches
• Arm: 15 inches

I’d rather wait until I weight less before posting before and after pictures.

Day 1: My mood was fine. I was able to not eat since I cleaned out my room and then went to work. I take vitamins, iron pill, regular water, salt and Core water (brand) it has electrolytes and minerals.
Day 2: Felt okay, I did have some major food grumbles and a lot of stool. Still taking vitamins, iron pill, reg water, Salt and core water. Went to work.
Day 3: Much better feeling was very energetic and willing to workout. Did laundry and went to work taking my daily’s as well.
Day 4: I felt like my senses were strong and still energetic. Still have bowel movements and no longer crave food at all. Still takings daily’s but was off work today. I also did 1 hour workout as well.

You got it babe! Great post! After Day 5 it gets MUCH easier, so if you feel good, keep going! Day 1-4 are the hardest, so you’re almost over the hump!

Day 5: Couldnt fall asleep. I felt like I had too much energy. I did get a light headache in the morning but had salt to take care of that. Overall took my daily’s and went to work. I did have a sip of broth due to tasting a food I made for my partner. Regardless it was a spoonful so I wont count it as ending my fast.

You will need less sleep as the brain runs better on ketones than glucose.

Day 6 I broke my fast with broth because my family realized I wasn’t eating at the party… They were having burgers and I wasnt able to go by with just drinking water. So I compromised with drinking broth from yesterday’s leftovers. The broth consist of zucchini and onions, tomatoes, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, cajun, and red pepper. It was spicy and delicious. Although this was only 5 days of fasting, I’m happy I went for this long. I do want to fast with the rest of the group so I will return to fasting tomorrow to Day 1. End of the fast with 223lbs which is a total of 12 lbs in 5 days.

Day 1: I feel so good and pumped! I went for a walk with Rene (my partner) and my niece and my dog Velita. It was the best walk ever. I was able to breath in the air very well. I don’t feel my weight was pushing me down. After the walk we were at the park and we meditated for half an hour. My niece did very well with that and she’s 7. After we played at the playground. I’m happy that I’m able to want to be outside whereas when I was eating unhealthy foods I would rather stay inside. My whole family along with me, which is 2 hand fulls of them, were decorating house for halloween. It was so fun. I did some meditating again for another hour at home with Rene. We ended up falling asleep. I guess we were so relaxed about everything. I ended up waking up two hours later. I felt a bit nauseous but had some water and salt. It calmed down really quick. Overall great Sunday and great first day!

Thank you, Yasemin I’m 28 hours in.

Hely, how are you doing today?

I’m doing really good thank you for asking.

Today, I will get drink s lot of water.
I will go to work and feel good.
I will sleep well tonight.

I am strong enough to finish this fast.

Day 2: I had a bad dream/sleep paralysis to start my day but apart from everything else went well. I convinced my mother to fast. She is on day 1. It was s productive day with teaching my mother about the keto diet and fasting then going to work. Overall I felt great.

Excellent. On of the ways I keep motivating myself is helping others. Part of my daily routine during my 40-day water fast is learning something new and performing an act of kindness.

That’s great Compdude!

Day 3:
Today I couldn’t sleep at all. I had to move to a different room to sleep in. I manage to sleep a little bit. Once I woke up, I felt energized ready to take the day on. My my mother is on Day 2 and we are encouraging eachother. She is only going for three days since it’s her first time. I went to work fine today. I took magnesium and potassium alone with my daily today to see if that makes a difference in my sleep.

Day 4: Today I felt horrible! I felt drowsy, nauseas, dizzy. I even fainted a little bit. Apparently, I wasnt drinking enough water. So that was my bad. I was dehydrated. Now that I fully hydrated I feel much better. I’ll see how sleep goes.

Okay, I have fallen from the wagon but I’m back on. Here at 220lbs. Still 15 lbs below the first time I started fasting on October. Here goes for another fast. Had a couple days of recovery from my previous fast due to dehydration. I’m here I’m strong and I will take it slow by trying two days. If I’m good at two I will push to three max.
