2nd day was tough, was hungry, fatigued, its a mental battle, thought I could not make it. But I pushed through. It’s my 3rd day today, not thinking about food  :face_with_hand_over_mouth: , spend an hour in my garden, senses of smells are heighten, i black out few times this morning, it happens only when moving too fast or changing positions, this happens normally in my lateron water fasting. I feel my blood are trying to swim back to my brain. Will keep pushing and update here. Gee, I sleep a lot so far…

Made to 4th day today, down to 147.8 this morning wasn’t planning on it, but I stood on the scale out of curiosity:-p listen to Dr Jason Fungs talk about fasting, I appreciate what he has found and shared to the world about fasting, he also mention about people drink black coffee or tea/herbal tea, lemon water or sparkling water even bone broth to help through the tough days, it works for a lot of people, made Fasting a bit pleasant, I like that too, I did 2 weeks juice fast, it was good, but spent a lot time cleaning vegi and juice them, not fun. I also did master cleans for 5 days, didn’t really like the result and how I felt during it, never go back to master cleans. So far I likes the water fast best due to its free, save money on food, and result and health benefits are great. I prepared dinner for my family last night, chicken and gravy smell so good, wanted to lick it but my mental won that battle. Just thinking that I can eat them in few weeks, that keeps me going…

I have to say I am surprised with my weight lost for this round of water fast. The only thing I’ve done differently this time is to flavor my water with lime, acv, salt, cream of tartar, peppermint…etc. Especially acv seem curb my hunger well. But I only like 1 tea spoon in my drink instead of 1 tablespoon most people use. My favorite drink now is Acv+salt+tartar with lots ice, I like a little bit more Himalayan salt in my drink. Yummm

Congratulations on making it this far. I am on day 6 here, going for an unknown amount of time. Whenever my body tells me. I have heard a lot about ACV but haven’t tried it in any of my other fasts. I’ve used it when eating before but I may have to give it a go. Happy Fasting

Water getting hard on my body, I use very little amount to flavor my drink with acv or lemon, otherwise I am unable to stomach down . I am on my 8th day today. Congratulations to make 6th day! It is not easy!

I made 8th day today. Woohoo. I am able to fit in my old jeans comfortably now, vision is clear, taste and smell buds are sensitive, I was making dinner for my family last night, I licked the spoon to make sure seasoning is ok, gosh, the taste burst in my mouth, its delicious, feel like heaven. I can put a spoonful in my mouth and close my eyes taste every fragrance and enjoy the sensation and joy this food gives…have to walked away from it b4 I loose it. 12 more days to go. Had a black tea with stevia this morning in my beautiful backyard. Gee, I miss food. It’s just a short apart.

It was tough yesterday, i felt like to vommit. my digestive track is doing something, feel like a piece of meat stuck in the bottom of my stomach, moving upward, it stuck in sphincter for a good long time, then move upward to my esophagus chest high for a long while , finally reach my neck area by the time I lay in bed. Past couple days I was having dull discomfort in my back, I was having trouble to stomach down water, therefore I spice my water with little amount of lime, peppermint, acv…etc. hopefully this tough time will pass soon. On my 9th day today, my mouth is so uncomfortable coated with white stuff and feel dry. Just want to eat some watermelon to make them go away. So tempted to do 10 days instead of 20 days. But also curious to know what and where my body going repair next? I wish we can communicate to work together to our goals.

Sounds like your body is going through detox. During my 40-day I went through 3 detox episodes. Since I have CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease) it was tough. The 1st episode my kidneys were working so hard, I felt such pain in my lower back that all day all I could do was lie in bed curled in a fetal ball and moan. Succeeding detox episodes got easier.

Succeeding two 21-day fasts, I still have detox episodes at the end as I’m not digging into decades-old visceral fat. That brought up its own issues but that’s another story. LOL

Just know I’m with you and hang in there!

Thank you for the encouraging words, would 30 days long term fast has greater health benefits then 3 rounds of 10 day fast?

There have been no credible studies to determine if one form of fasting is more effective than another. With that said, here is my own opinion based on the science that I know.

The 30-day is more beneficial based on the fact that you only spend 3 of the 30 days transitioning from glucose to adipose burning. On the other hand three 10-day fasts means a total of 9 days spent in transition. Therefore, with the 30-day you spend 27 days burning fat while with the three 10-days you only have 21 days.

HOWEVER, fasting is stressful on the body and that stress accumulates over time. Depending on your fasting experience and personal health history, 3 10-day fasts might make more sense.

In my case, I did a 40-day and I was completely worn out; especially, by the 3 detox episodes I suffered through. If I had the chance, would I do it again? Yes, because I also viewed it as a willpower test/challenge.

From here on out, the longest fast I will undertake is 21-days while I’m working to get to my goal body set point. Once I achieve that, I will only do a max 7-day fast anywhere from once a quarter to once a year for maintenance purposes.

Hope this helps!

That makes sense, if the house is filthy, hadn’t been cleaned for years, it takes longer to clean, extended long fast will do a good job although it might be tough, but if we clean the house regularly by eating healthy and maybe do 1 day fast per month, we just need to schedule deep clean once or twice a year, since the house is not that filthy, 7-10 day fasting shall do the job. Well, I am planning on jump right into Omad diet after 20 days of WF. I feel much better now, shall be able to keep pushing, thank you for your support.

My 10th day, woke up with stomach cramps, hope the detox for my digestive system will pass soon.Did some experiments on Acv+tartar+ salt drink and found (in my case) it slow down the weight lost, decided not take it any more, tea and sparkling drink seems does not effect me at all. Had urge of bowel movement this morning, thought just passing liquid gas, as I turned around to my shock, it was black water, looks like thick black coffee, smell like chemicals, I dont understand what was that, it must be bad stuff since my body is trying to get rid of it. I read some post about a lady, she suggested to take 1t chia seeds everyday to help body to clean and carry out body trash, she said it does not break the WF, have anyone heard about that before?

1 oz of chia seeds has 12 grams of carbs. It will break your fast.

Made 11th day today, half way mark, 10 more days to go. My body still working on my digestive system repairs today, I feel it cause I am nauseous often accompanying with dull stomach discomfort, because of that, I was not able to stomach down as much water as I need, or should I just stop and listen to my body? If I need to drink more water to help detox , I need to figure out a way to drink more water. Will 1/8 lemons in my 12 oz water break WF ?

Lemon juice you’re good. There is 5 grams of carbs in a whole lemon. As long as the amount of juice is small you’re fine.

Does that mean if I take whole lemon through out the day, I will still be fine right?
