Hi I came across your videos. I like you are a woman and mentioning issues I have faced when trying to fast which are light headness and hair loss. I am Vegan and a busy mom of 2 working full time and driving 80 miles a day. I am 30kg overweight ( all on my thighs tum and bottom). Would like to be a normal BMI

I had a skeptical doctor and family. But I needed one person I felt I had to be accountable to and whine to. LOL

I recruited my pastor who I did weekly check-ins with. We kept it confidential until my weight loss was getting obvious and then we went public. That was before Yas’ established this forum.

You should ask @anna that question. She’s more knowledgeable on foods that I am. I’m a typical computer nerd. A few basic foods and recipes I stick to and I’m good.

Hi!
Reading that made my stomach hurt a bit! The way your husband is talking to you is really not okay, and I wish you didn’t have to go through that! Abuse usually gets worse by time, and there is help to get. Feel free to message me if you’d want to anytime!

About the food; no, sweet corn won’t be going unprocessed through your body. No food will. If something would consist of 100 % pure fibre, the body wouldn’t be able to take care of the calories in it, but the bacteria in your gut would still be getting benefits from it, by creating fatty acids from it as an example. Sugar alcohols are another example of something that the human body can’t use the calories of, that’s why they can market as 0 calories on package foods, but these have a negative impact on the gut bacteria.

Not sure I’m answering your question, but if you’re thinking about having foods ready to potentially break the intermittent fasting with, or just have prepared if you’re not feeling well while fasting, I would suggest to have vegetable broth/ vegetable soup ready, and some high water content vegetables like you said. I’d say that you don’t have to be that careful when intermittent fasting compared to when water fasting. Raw carrots for example would be too hard to digest after a few days of water fasting!

I don’t really know if I made anything more clear, but please ask again if you’re wondering something!

Yes that behaviour is not acceptable and I have told him. Thank you Anna, I know it is uncomfortable to read. Most of the time he is a good guy but every so often the verbal abuse is there. I do worry about the effect on my children and I do try to educate that this is wrong behaviour. More so for my son as he is only 4 yrs old. I told my husband today that there really was no need for that remark and that I am not an idiot and that if his rudeness carried on I would start recording his rude behaviour and send it to his friends …that made him quiet! I dont want to dwell on it on this forum as I have a huge weight loss journey ahead and want to be 50kg by the end of the year. But I will be honest in my journal and say if my husband is getting me down. He never apologises and emotionally I dont feel close to him that much. I end up having small crushes
on men at my work who are doctors and healthcare professionals. I would never act on them and again very aware that they too could be completely different at home.

Thank you for your knowledge on the food aspect. I will stick to high water content veg as opposed to fruit will eat things like tomatoes carrots lettuce brocoli cucumber and cabbage. I think Yasemin is right we should do this for our health first. I am going shopping to get my supplies tomorrow ready for the big day on Tuesday! :grinning:

This is a safe place to open up about what you are going through. I too was emotionally involved while reading your post. I just wanted to say that you can feel free to talk here. I’m also relieved to read that you know you don’t deserve this kind of treatment. All the best to you!

Aww thanks guys! I ended up having my kids left over banana cocoa nib and avacado smoothie as I did not want to waste it ( will need to stop this) a tea with soy milk and then another bowl like above with lentil blueberries and a bit of potatoe ( again will need to stop the carbs). Oh and I accidentally put my daughters crusts in my mouth when I was making her brekkie…its only when I got back to the fridge I realised what I did (will need to stop auto eating). Did my weekly food shop too and walked straight by this rubbish…opposite was all the yummy fresh juicy fruit and veg lol :joy::joy::joy::joy:
