Citron's 6 Day Water Fast - Join me!

DAY 1 - 12 hours
5’ 3", 133 lbs

Hi All,

I’m starting my 6 day water fast today. I’m 12 hours in. I’ve had 4 tries and didn’t make it past 60 hours, so I feel kind of like a failure. It’s really hard to stick with it because I just feel so HUNGRY on Day 2. Also, I have this weird thing which is that I have a practically irresistible urge to eat before a bowl movement. I’m really hoping I can make to that magical thing called Day 3! :star2:

I really need to do this water fast to heal my SIBO and to lose weight. I have a pretty bad case of sibo. Even having a little bit of cocktail sauce makes me toot all night and into the next day. Also have terrible food cravings, carb cravings and food intolerances. I listen to a lot of Dr Berg and Dr Mindy and feel that water fasting will help me with these issues in a way that nothing else can.

Also, I struggle with dull skin and mild acne. The few days I’ve done water fasting have helped with this, so I’m really hoping and praying I make it to 6 days.

ANYONE HAVE IDEAS TO HELP ME MAKE IT TO 6 DAYS?

I’ve tried salt, watching videos, hoodia, and video journaling. Nothing doing so far.

I do believe doing it with others will make a difference!

Thanks.

Hi! I already had too many tries as well, and tomorrow I’ll start my fast until Sunday. So only 4 days but I’m aiming for an extended one afterwards! Maybe we could both support each other?

The 1st 3 to 5 days are the hardest as your body transitions from glucose burning to ketosis. For the vast majority of people they suffer withdrawal symptoms from sugar/carb addiction (if they have it) and what I call “transition” symptoms (headaches & lack of energy). The key is to get as much as rest as possible and knowing there is light at the end of the tunnel. Speaking from experience (4, 5, 7, 21 & 40 day fasts).

Hi @Lilly,

Yes, that would be great! It’s my first day and my stomach is already growling  but I’m determined to stick it out for the 5-6 days.

I had a ton of carbs yesterday (Tuesday) - New York style pizza, hash browns and bananas. I think that’s what’s causing my hunger pangs. Usually Day 1 is pretty easy for me. I keep telling myself I need to get to Day 3.

Good luck starting your fast tomorrow!

Yes, I find Day 2/3 really hard. Can’t seem to finish Day 3.

This time I’m reaching out to others, so I’m really hoping it’ll be different!

How was it fasting for 40 days?! I want to try that eventually.

I joined this forum on Day 3/40 so you can read it in my DJ titled “S1E1 40-Day Water Fast and Post-Fast ReFeed Journal”.

Bottom line it was tough near the end. The 40-day was my final boss challenge at the end of my own customized treatment protocol that I began on August 9th of last year. 4 months and 5 days after I started and finished the 40 day I was officially declared “medication free” which was my primary goal and lost a total of 81lbs during that time.

Yes I’m starting tomorrow and my first milestone is Sunday, from then extending hopefully to the 21day group fast! I know you can do it! Just remind yourself how good you’ll feel afterwards!

Same I always give up on day 2/3 but I truly wanna fast longer:pleading_face::pleading_face:

Wow, that’s great for you! I’ll have to read your story. I think I’ll try out the app too.

I’m doing this for health too - I’m trying to heal my food sensitivities and SIBO, and lose 13 pounds.

But right now I’m soooo craving New York thin crust pizza and Little Debbie snack cakes! :pizza::pizza::pizza::fish_cake::fish_cake::fish_cake: I was literally planning to go get some after work BUT…

Then I realized I would have to post my lapse here after I just put up a gung ho post about fasting for 5/6 days!

So I’m going to stick with it. I’m already 16 hours in. As Lilly said, you can always have the food later. The pizza will still be there and the cakes will still be there. And hopefully when I do have them, they won’t cause me tiredness, bloating and anxiety like they do now!

I was also wondering…

Has anyone found fasting easier in the summer than in winter? I found that I’m really craving heavy, cheesy, and comforting foods. I feel really cold and kinda bored too.

I lost a lot of weight in summer lmao. I was on the Maledives at this time and basically Omg had fruit hahah @Kittens3523

@Lilly You’re lucky! You’re young so you can have lots of fruit. My weight would probably balloon if I did that! All that fructose.

I’m really benefitting from the interaction. I think it’s helping me stay on track today. Am really craving carbs and just food today!

Anyway, I just came back from Kinne drugs (drugstore). Passed by the hostess cupcakes and donuts and didnt get a single thing. Instead I got keto sticks!

Dr Mindy says you should be in ketosis at around 17 hours, but my strip is showing only a trace amount.

My mom made chicken curry, fried fish and my favorite fried, caramelized cabbage and she keeps telling me to eat :sob::sob::sob::sob::sob:

I could smell the food before I got to the house. It’s perfuming the whole neighborhood.

She’s wondering why I’m not eating!

What should I do?! :disappointed_relieved::weary::slightly_frowning_face::flushed::sob:

I wish I was as strong as you!!! In my heart I’m fully determined to reach my goals but my find is tricking me all the time. At least my mom supports my fasting now and this help is exactly what I needed. Tomorrow is the first day!! Let’s keep each other accountable!

Awww thank you! I guess I won’t eat then. I’ll see how long I’ll last before she notices and yells at me for not eating a perfectly good home cooked meal.

But seriously the chicken curry looks succulent and heavenly. But I know there will be other dinners.

Tell her that you’re fasting and about all the health benefits!

I need your STRENGTH

It’s not really strength, just support and peer pressure :green_heart:

I gave in, guys :broken_heart:

My mom was getting upset cuz I wasn’t eating - Asian moms don’t mess around when it comes to food. Plus I had to poop which always compels me to eat for some reason.

I’m disappointed in myself, even though my mom’s feeling better! I’ll have to come up with a game plan for these dinners. Anyway, I’ve started again. Day 1, hour 1. Here goes!

You can tell her you know a Filipino guy whose mom supports him. He did a 40-day fast and became “medication free” in 4 months and 5 days, and lost 81lbs too. Hope this helps!
