Best time for the OMAD meal

Hi,

I am currently on my 21 days water fasting - day 10. I will be finishing on Feb 3rd at 10.30pm. I have planned to do OMAD from the 4th for a week or two. What would be the best time to have that one meal? BTW I work from 9am to 5pm and have planned to go to the gym after work at about 7pm.

Considering all the above, what would be the best time to have the meal for effective weight loss. Can it be breakfast, lunch or dinner after gym? Btw, the meal will be keto friendly anyway.

Thanks,
Fiyaza

Yay, halfway to your goal!!
Most people that are exercising while eating OMAD suggest that you have your meal close to your chosen time to work out, but it can depend a bit based on what type of workout you’re doing. Doing intense cardio will make you very fatiuge if you don’t have a meal afterwards, or if you choose to eat a few hours before the workout. Going hours of fasting after doing high intensity might make you very fatuige and tired so it’s difficult to sustain.
Strength training on the other hand doesn’t take as much energy out of you right away, so many are able to do strength training on any point of the day, without obsessing over having a meal attached to it right away.

So based on what I’ve learned, I would suggest you to have lunch or dinner if you plan on working out in the evening

It depends on your lifestyle. From a Circadian Rhythm perspective, you should schedule your OMAD during the time your body is most insulin sensitive, which to me is anytime before 3pm.

Yas’ has hers around dinner time as that fits her business and social schedule best.

While @Anna gives it from a workout perspective.

Gather as much information as you can and make the choice that you feel is sustainable.
