Every time I try to fast on the first day my circadian rhythm changes so much that I have so much difficulty sleeping, then I end up breaking my fast because it’s easier to sleep after food. Who has been through this and what can I do? Thanks.
Bad sleep
Welcome to our fasting community.
Magnesium supplement before you go to sleep is recommended. Then if that is insufficient I’d add melatonin.
Hope this helps. @Yasemin anything you want to add?
I love your answers as always!
I take a supplement that includes magnesium once in the morning and once in the evening. I’m afraid of relying on melatonin because I hear you can develop an addiction to it.
I take magnesium only but some days I’ll have too much energy and it’s normal.
Was working all night and ended up in bed at 3am and now it’s 6:30am and I’m wide awake! Body sometimes just doesn’t want to sleep! Shouldn’t be every day! Do you try anything special to fall asleep?
