Hi, good idea about the essential oil sticks, where do you get those from ?

Mine are from a company called Naroma. But I live in the Netherlands so you probably won’t be able to find them.

I bet if you google for something like “essential oil stick hunger/cravings” or something like that, you will come across something similar.

Not sure if it is supposed to be used, I originally wanted to do a “perfect” waterfast, without any “aids” but now I figure as long as I can stay on track the best as I can, it is all good.

Thanks, I just wondered. Black coffee helps also. The main thing for me is to last as long as possible too. Thanks again.

Great mindset! One step at a time, one day at a time. That’s how we’ll get there.

Today is supposed to be my second day, however I got weak and had to grab a meal. I have done a 14 days past. My hope is to reach 21 days.

I love to cook and bake and I am really good at it. Food has always been the way I cope. If I am upset I bake something. The last few years have been shitty,my dad died,I called off my wedding, which caused a lot of drama, then covid,I gained almost 150 lbs in the last 3 yrs or so. This month is my attempt to reset. Maybe improve my back and knee pain. I am 34 hrs in and feeling great so far.

Day 1 check-in: the first day was yesterday for me and it was quite easy. I didn’t feel any hunger, I just wanted to eat something but I started to focus on other things and forgot about it. So I’m feeling really proud and excited. I feel like I can do this  :boom:

My why’s:

  1. Self-confidence
  2. Feel good about my health and myself
  3. Fit in clothes that I want to buy
  4. Take photos without feeling depressed
  5. Knee pain
  6. Anxiety
  7. Get back to a healthy lifestyle
  8. Lose weight and get back to the normal range

Well, the first day was not the bloodbath I was expecting, feeling surprised actually for feeling thankful (?!). Is doing hunger willfully generating gratitude?? That’s new, because I’ve avoided extended fasting assuming the cascading shitshow of emotions I figured would come as part of the package. Whatever- I am here for spiritual guidance. The spirit has always been something I knew I felt strongly but struggled to define within myself (where it begins and I “end”, I am entering this extended fast to gain clarity. As I understand it- fasting is a form of sacrifice, and is argued to be critical in any abrahamic belief system- if you’re not willing to sacrifice then you’re not really vested and are just reaping the benefits of god without putting anything back in-the religious equivalent of someone changing their Facebook profile picture to support a cause, getting props for doing your part to fight breast cancer, when you really haven’t… Without sacrifice, religion would just be cheap virtue signaling.
So as a believer, my willingness to sacrifice via fasting when I would rather be stuffed as usual is what allows me to be more sensitive towards prayer and its legitimacy/strength-- if it’s all true…

TLDR fasting required for any kind of spiritual growth and I haven’t done it successfully yet, so that’s truly my why. Nice to meet everyone.

Day 1 wasn’t horrible. I was COLD Last night but other than that, i was fine.
Day 2 CHECK IN!! I am feeling very motivated!
Failure is NOT AN OPTION. I promised myself that i will take care of her and i will do just that. I am so sick and tired of not fitting into my clothes, a lot of them still new and so cute and i felt so sad that i had to box them up because I don’t fit in them! THE GOAL IS TO TAKE IT OUT OF THE GARAGE AND WEAR THEM AGAIN!!

Day 2 check in. Still going. Day 1 I was cold and got hungry in the evening but was able to stay strong. No issues today so far but it’s early still. I know this evening the hunger will kick in again. So preparing for it now and remembering my why’s.

You can do it, but be nice and loving toward yourself and check in often! I like to use fasts as a time to heal, not just physically, but emotionally too. You’re doing great!

I’m in day two. My previous two fasts pushed my time of the month out seven days to today!! Argh! Will be in bed, watching Netflix, for most of the day. Except I won’t be chomping on chocolate like I usually do during my TOM. Has anyone else ever had a late, or even missed their TOM from fasting?

I was sooo cold too!
Day 2! Let’s go!

Halfway done with day 2! I’m not hungry and a little dizzy but that’s nothing water and sitting down can’t fix. My longest water fast was 12 days and usually on day 2 I give up, but I feel good! We got this everyone!
