Water 💦 Fast - Day 3

I’m use to fasting for spiritual purposes just not such an extended fast. I was over 200lbs on Day 1 looking to be back to 135lbs size 7 in jeans. I’m currently on Day 3. The original plan was to fast for 10-15 days I do have a lot going on as a single mother. I work a very physical job laboring moving heavy items the whole time. Also am responsible for my children all day & their schooling, as well as our time with Church & God. So far I’m doing very well had no problem with hunger, food, or cravings at all. I do sleep/rest a lot when I can. I try to drink a 16 oz bottle of water every hour. Today I have not drank much but I’ve been sleeping a lot. Will start drinking my water soon. Looking for some one as a accountability partner. I am new to this site. First time posting anything.

Welcome to the forum!

How long were your fasts?

Also, if you decide to change the title of your journal just let me know. :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you! My sincere apologies I didn’t know I had changed your group title. Did not mean to. You can change it back.

I’ve been fasting off & on for 6-7 years for spiritual purposes but never an extended fast past 3days like these.

Yes, WELCOME! I was over 200 lbs. in June (Corona Kilos). And I am presently almost done with my 13th day of this 40 (maybe longer) fast. A lot of people have difficulty at the beginning of any extended fast…me, too. Yasemin made a suggestion to use one’s fasting suffering to channel it to pray for others. So, I have been doing this. AND it really helps! I am not focused on my own suffering, deprivation (I wanna EAT, and NOW!). I am focusing on using prayer to help others. I love it. Fasting for spiritual reasons is, my opinion, the highest form of healing and transformation. On 10/10/20 was the 10th anniversary of my dear husband’s passing out of this life and home to heaven. Each year, I have felt such pain, and loss, as the date came closer and closer. This year was the first year I did not suffer. And in fact, I forgot it was his death date. My daughter reminded me. And it was a beautiful, lovely day. My kids and grandkids came to visit, I cooked a big meal for them, and had no need to eat at all. It all just blew my mind. So, I KNOW fasting is total healing. BTW, I have dropped from 93 kg/204.6 lbs, to 76 kg/167 lbs, since June. My knees are much happier now, too. I wish you every success!

Hello and welcome!

I had done spiritual fasts regularly for a day at a time, but hadn’t gone longer than that before the middle of this year. I started right around 190 lbs with dieting and at 180ish with fasting. My goal is the same as yours. I have an active job, too, but I don’t work every day and I don’t have kids so that makes it a lot easier. I’ve had some ups and downs, but am sticking to this.

Good luck and best wishes to you on this journey.
