Trish’s Daily Journal

This is day 3 of my water fast. I am drinking water with salt, potassium and baking soda. I also take a shot of ACV in the morning as well as drink black coffee and tea. I am so glad that I found this fasting group to keep me focused and motivated. I know these pounds and inches will fall off. I have decided to stay away from the scale for a while mainly because I become addicted to the numbers and lose sight that I am doing this for my health. I am obese, so I have a lot to lose, but I know fasting is the vehicle that will take me to my goal of wearing size 10 jeans and being my best self for my 50th birthday next year. My motto is: If not now, when? Because I cannot put my health or poor physical appearance and fitness off any more. I will control my own destiny.

End of Day 3 -
I have a bad taste that I can’t get rid of and I had some stomach discomfort this afternoon. It was difficult to cook dinner for my family without tasting to season, but I did it. Once I can get past 7pm, I can feel success in making it through the day.

I just finished day 4 and it was great! I felt great- No aches, pains or any fasting issues. I drank 1 L of salted water, Perrier sparkling water with a wedge of lime, black coffee, and herbal tea. Drinking different beverages really helped me enjoy the day. I do plan to end my fast after 7 days to refeed then go directly into another 7 day fast. My goal is to do this for the entire month of June and watch the fat melt away. I think the month of June could change my life. I am not weighing, but I can tell my body is already changing. Whoop whoop!

It really is. I make guacamole tonight and I just had to guess on seasoning and tell my family that they might have to adjust the salt or lime juice. Nothing worth doing is usually easy.

I just finished day 5- it was a rough day of fasting got done reason. I wasn’t hungry but I was low on energy and I wanted to eat for comfort. I resisted, but I was mentally low. On to day 6 tomorrow. I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow, so we will see how that goes.

Day 6 in the books. I had a good day and grocery shopping while fasting was easier than expected. I do feel very weak and cannot sleep at night, but still feel tired. I am going to break my fast tomorrow about 11am. I am going to follow Thomas Delour’s protocol for waking up the thyroid after a fast.
11:00 tea with cinnamon and salt
12:00 pea protein shake with seaweed and beets
12:30. Whitefish and shrimp with a kale salad
I will have a 2nd meal tomorrow if I feel hungry not satiety. I will keep it keto. I will start another week of fasting after my last meal.

I recommend you do a 3 day refeed. Rule of thumb is refeed is half the length of the fast. Fasting, by its nature is stressful to the body, this is what awakens our rejuvenation and repair systems. However, fasting stress is accumulative. You need to give the body a break otherwise your risk over stressing it.

6.5 days of fasting Complete. I did a refeed in n Sat following Thomas D protocol in order to reactivate the thyroid and keep bounce back weight gain
Tea with 1 tsp cinnamon and 2 tsp salt, my vitamins and supplements including magnesium.
1 hour later- Pea Protein shake with beet powder, Molinga, maca, macha, Pune pollen, powdered greens and blueberries.
1 hour later: Grilled Mahi Mahi and shrimp with roasted seaweed
2 hours later - my food of choice (no sugar or gluten) keto pizza(2 very small pieces) keto crepe brûlée and keto peppermint patty.
I would have been perfect if I had stopped there, but I had a small no sugar pina colada. I will try to resist an alcoholic drink next time…if I can.

No issues after the afternoon refeed and I started another fast at 6pm.
It is now Day 2 of my fast and I am feeling so much better than last week at this time. Fast On.

I feel that my body and mind would be more stressed by an extended fast (longer than 6 days) instead of breaking weekly to refeed. I did follow a careful protocol to awaken my thyroid and digestive system and refeed with high nutrient food.

Today is fast day 4 of week 2. I am doing great, much easier than last week. I wanted to eat yesterday not from hunger, but I guess boredom or pleasure. I drank green tea and sat in the sun. The sun is therapy for me for sure. I have noticed that the less I watch tv the easier it is to fast. I think it is all those fast food commercials. My goal for week 2 is 6.5 days of fasting, exercise lightly everyday(this is a new one hit me), and have a low carb refeed on Sat before starting week 3. So far, so good.

Yes, tv commercials act like Pavlov’s bell. Like the dog in the experiment our brains have linked food commercials to getting hungry.

I am starting day 5. I woke up feeling good even though I had trouble sleeping last night. It is going to be a rainy day. I will have to fight to stay the course of not eating. I have added in stretching and light exercise every day this week!! That is a big :star: for me.
