Started my 21 day water fast today.
start weight: 73.3 kg
goal weight: 60 kg

Morning was easy, didn’t think much about food but now its around 5 pm and the hunger is kicking in. i am expecting first 3-4 days to be hardest. I am constantly sipping on warm water with bit of lemon.
i will try to distract my mind with work and maybe play some Netflix.
wish me best

Good luck Tashika!

Day 2 : i would say it was not so bad day except an hour or two near 6 pm where i felt like i wanted to throw up.
i told myself that my body was cleansing itself and its gonna pass. so many people have done what i was doing and it is just mental battle. I can be so much more if i dont have this extra weight keeping me away from my full potential.
haven’t fell tooo hungry, just missed the food (even plain rice looked tempting :stuck_out_tongue:)

Day 3:
i woke up in middle of night feeling horrible…like my spirit was about to leave my body :stuck_out_tongue:
but luckily it wasn’t my time yet. told my mind to stop throwing tantrums, drink a glass of water and go to sleep.

Morning
then woke up feeling better, not really hungry, just a bit uncomfortable. weight myself and i have lost 4.4 pounds since start…yayy

Afternoon:
Just got back from walk, clocked 5000 steps. i plan to do same in evening if I feel like.
I did cook a chicken curry meal for my whole family and didn’t feel hungry or wanted to eat it. Maybe I wanted to taste it a bit but that was it. I told myself no tasting anything

Evening: took 2 hour nap as it helps the day go faster. Funny how days are way longer than they use to be when I was eating😛
Then woke up and did 4000 steps and some weight lifting. I am much more active then before and not sluggish anymore. Later in evening I made some rice pudding for family but again controlled myself.

Some small part of me misses the food specially when some tells me that dish in fridge is soo good. Not feeling hungry but need to keep motivation up.
Also I have been having back pain today…not too bad but its uncomfortable. Didn’t drink too much water as I did drink a lot yesterday and it gave me vomiting type feeling

Start weight: 73.1kg
Day 2: 72.9
Day 3: 71.1
Total lost: 2kg

Day 4:
Weight : 71.7 kg
Total weightloss :2.5 kg
Today I woke up not feeling so good. Sleep was light …I am a usually very heavy sleeper but now every little sound wakes me up. As soon as I got up I felt weak and dizzy. Then had glass with salt and felt better instantly

I tried keeping busy during whole day. Driving around whole day. Did some light weights. Cooked food for family. Everyone loved it but I could only see it :unamused:. The stupid me watched few reciepe videos from my fav chef.Honestly at that point, I wasn’t really hungry but I felt intense frustration over not eating something yummy. I miss the taste of food:expressionless::expressionless:

Then I wana reach 68kg before I call it quits and then maintain it for a while. Then I plan to start again to tackle next 4 kgs

Do after completing day 4, around 1 am as u was in bed I felt cramps in my left arm then within minutes my arm from top to my fingertips was turning numbs. No amount of shaking or massaging was stopping the numbing. I FREAKED OUT AND ATE scrawled egg and some chicken soup with veggies. Then I had 2 spoons of sweet rice pudding just in case my sugar or something was low.
In few mins the numbness went down and I could sleep. Not waking up I still have bit of discomfort and slight cramping in my left arm.
Also I feel guilty of breaking my fast lol although a part if me knows after whole 4 days it was my breaking point
Well I am gonna see if I should have healthy veggie smoothie and continue it

Hi @Tashika! You’re doing a great job being aware of your body and figuring out what works for you . I honestly cannot fast more than 3 days right now and that is okay! I noticed you felt better after having salt in your water and wonder if maybe that will help while you fast? I add potassium and salt in mine, but that is what works for me. Keep going and I’m cheering you on :confetti_ball: :four_leaf_clover:!

Hi Tashika
That’s an amazing achievement, it’s horrible when fear over a physical symptom kicks in. You know your body a better than anyone and did what was right. Don’t fret about breaking your fast. You did a solid 4 days and trained your body, keep on the Himalayan salt, potassium and magnesium each day and adapt it if you need to. There is no “Fasting Police” having done so many fasts of varying lengths these last 3 years, I have learned this year that if I need to adapt a fast, I should do it without guilt and with pride because a minor adaptation is better than doing no fasting at all when the fast just feels too hard. Dr Fung recommends Bone Broth and suggests bullet proof coffee, Dr Longo suggest 500 calories a day, Dr Attia takes Bouillon during his fasts - all experts on the subject matter. There is so much needless preaching and pressure about keeping a true water fast all the time. Although small adaptations interrupt autophagy only temporarily, if the fast is for weight loss and not for a deep cleanse/healing these small adaptations are welcome in my world.
I hope you enjoy your next fasting cycle and I wish you all the success with it.

Thanks for support @Cindy @Sbrannan
Yes although i felt guilty but I know its important to listen to my body.
So I wake up today and stepped on scale
CW: 70.0kg.
SW: 73.3 kg
I was happy to see good 3.3 kg loss in total.
I was feeling healthy and no hunger in morning, pretty energetic so went for 4k run/walk. Decided I should continue. Now I m not really fasting but decided to eat only and only if I feel immense hunger.
Since my body is already ketosis, it should keep burning the fat even if I award it with little keto snack sized meal when I feel too horrible or too hungry.

So in evening I had 3 scrambled eggs with some onion butter and chilis. Filled me up pretty good. :upside_down_face:
