Hi, tomorrow I will start my second waterfast. A few weeks ago I ended my first 21 day fast. I don’t know if I do this time 21 days. Maybe I will we will see how it goes. The last time the last 3-4 days I found very difficult. I hope I can make it through this time because mentally I don’t feel very strong. I have some difficulties in my life this moment and normally I would stuff my face full with food to get through the day. I’m doing now omad and I miss my best friend “food”. I know that it isn’t the right way and it harms me more than it helps but this is the way I know to deal with problems.
Starting my second waterfast
First day was difficult. I was really struggling and almost wanted to quit. But I didn’t!! Everytime I’m struggling mentally my best friend food was there to comfort and get me trough the difficult time. But I don’t want to depend on food anymore. I have to learn to embrace the hurt, pain and every rotten feeling that a human can feel. I always ran away from them because I have to stay strong for my kids but in the long run I’m destroying myself. I know I can do this, I have to stay strong and hope that I can finish 14 days.
I recommend adding meditation to your daily routine. If you’re feeling stressed your cortisol levels will rise. Studies have shown cortisol adds to weight gain and slows weight loss.
Thank you! I will try to make some time for myself but I find that very difficult to do. I’m last on my to do list😔
Goodmorning, yesterday went early to bed and had a goodnight sleep. I feel this morning better and I have to keep saying to myself that I can do this and I really want this. I going to make myself ready to go to work. Busy week again but I will take it day by day.
Believe in yourself if you do it once you can it 1000 time better

Sanne, how much did you loose on your first 21 days? Im on day 2.
Hi Katty, the first time I lost 13,5 kg. Between my last fast and this one I did omad and the first days I gained 1,5 kg so that wasn’t that bad. I lost that again with 2 kg extra. Now I’m hoping to do 14 days waterfast and my goal is to lose 25kg by end of this year. (I hope for more of course).
But aside from the weight loss it has so much other benefits. I had so much more energy, my skin looked fantastic, I had no IBS symptoms (I hope it stays away). Look, it isn’t easy and you really have to go for it but if you pass that 3 or 4 th day you feel wonderful. Keep going and you can do it!! Believe in yourself❤️
Did your skin get tight? I heard with fasting, you dont get loose skin.
A lot of people who did waterfast noticed less or no lose skin when they lost weight. For me it is to early to say but I do noticed that my skin is firmer and looking better. We will wait and see.
Day 2 is almost done. I’m proud that I kept strong yesterday and didn’t listen to that voice in my head. I really felt down yesterday but today was better. I’m doing this for me and my boys!! So my health is getting better and I feel better. Tomorrow is a new day with new chances!
The reason is due to autophagy. It’s your body’s natural recycling mechanism. When your body realizes there is no more food coming in your cells will then recycle damaged and non-functioning parts within themselves to rejuvenate. One of the reasons to do fasting vs caloric restriction diets is you don’t have to go to a plastic surgeon to remove excess skin. LOL
I love that part, not needing plastuc surgery to remove excess skin, besides those surgeries are not affordable.
It’s dinner time here and the kids are having their dinner. It was a very busy day at work, a lot of meetings, talking, concentration and I must say that I feel a headache coming up. Just made myself a cup of gingertea and try to relax a little hoping my headache is going away. Day 3 went good and we are still going strong. I hope that everybody is doing oke💕
Goodmorning, today the beginning of day 4. I feel good, busy day at work. What I find is helping me a lot because the time is flying by and I must remember myself to drink. I have a bottle on my desk so I don’t forget. I have a little trouble sleeping and this morning I woke up early:grin: but I don’t mind a feel energetic. No hunger and when I see something that is triggering me I remember Yasemins words "food will be there tomorrow, the next week, the next month, snap out of it:sweat_smile:. It helps me lot together with the thought that I’m healing myself and doing this for my boys:heart:
FYI: You will need less sleep for the following reasons:
- Your brain runs better on ketones than on glucose
- The energy your body devoted to digesting food and storing excess calories into fat is freed up.
