Starting a 45 day fast

This is my first time doing a fast. I know 45 days is very long for a fast, but will see if I get very hungry or if I feel bad after 21 days, I will think about shortening it and do another fast later on. But I want to try to do it for 45 days.

The reason for the 45 days number, is that in my country, the government declared another state of emergency for 45 days, and I want to see how much I could change my body in that time.

Since the whole covid-19 stuff started, I’ve gained around 20lbs, and I was already 20 lbs overweight. So I want to lose as much as possible.

My motivation for starting now, is that this weekend I was going to go out on a “date” sort of, and I looked horrible in all my clothes. I looked way fatter than on my profile picture. I felt like such a catfish. I decided to cancel the date. Now, I sort have 45 days that I can’t go on a date because of the state of emergency (there is a curfew). So, I want to take advantage that I can’t socialize with anyone to get back on track with my body.

I’m currently 186.4lbs. I’d like to be at least 165lbs by the end of my fast.

If I’d only thought about Fasting at the beginning of lockdown here I’d be probably walking a runway by now.

But to be honest I was feeling too much stress and definitely would have wrecked it. I had to get to the point of not being able to button my pants.

We are open, but lucky me is in the state with the highest daily numbers so I’m carrying on with lockdown protocol.

This is my second day on this fast. I didn’t wake up hungry. So I just drank some club soda and went off to work. In the afternoon I started to get hungry. I drank some more water and some more club soda. But I should have drank some coffee.

Now at night I’m really struggling with my hunger. It’s too late for me to drink coffee. But my hunger is starting to really bother me. I’m really craving food now.

I’m going to push through. I’m going to drink some more water, brush my teeth, and hopefully fall asleep soon.

Let’s see if tomorrow a wake up not hungry.

Well, things didn’t go so well for me this day 3.

I caved in this dawn. I didn’t sleep well at all because my stomach was hurting. I think it was full of gas or acid. I got up and drank some protein powder and metamucil (the only “food” I actually had at home), and that calmed my stomach so I could get a couple of hours of sleep before going to work.

Today, I woke up feeling better but my stomach still hurts. I ate some salami for breakfast and a salad for lunch. I plan on eating a salad again for dinner and an antacid, and I’ll see if I can restart the fast tomorrow.

I didn’t expect so much discomfort, specially since I had such an easy first day.

It can sneak up on some.

Some need to build up their fasting muscle.

Basically start doing some shorter fasts and build up to a big one.

You can add all your fasted days together too. Those can be an accomplishment in them selves.

Thanks. I think I’m going to do that! I’m going to spend these 45 days, practicing shorter fasts.
