Gained 10 lbs in 2 days!!! I’m fasting until the 6th to get back into ketosis and reset. Then the plan is 72s and get this last 30 lbs oops 40 lbs off. I am so close to my goal of 135. Started at 268. I can do this. Food is temporary this is my body for life!! I started this and I guess it was stuck in the draft sections. Haha. I’m not sure what day I wrote it but it was close to Jan 1st.

I don’t know if this is suppose to be a new thread or just reply to myself to stay in my Journal area??? I’ve never done anything like this before. I pulled out the old trusty chrome book to chat with you guys. My phone made it really difficult to navigate threads and follow along with the posts. I am user challenged.

I have been following along on the check in videos. I’m having a really difficult time of fasting lately. I had planed to do longer term fasting and just could not get in the right mind set. I was doing OMAD and I stick to that really well.
I started getting tired a lot and having difficulty with concentration and generally not feeling “right”. After 3 days of this I set up a clinic appointment and went in to get checked out. I am a very energetic and pretty hyper person so when I am too tired to do anything something is wrong. My NP (Nurse Practitioner) had my lab work done and gave me a B12 shot and said it sounds like possible anemia. This scared the bejesus out of me. I have done a lot of fasting in the past 6 months and I have not gotten to my goal weight yet. I am at 167 as of this morning and I have revised my goal weight to 145 lbs. I am waiting on the NP to review my labs and call me back with results. Some of the tests take up to 5 days to complete. So I am stuck waiting. In the interim, I am on a hard and fast eat all the good nutrient dense food I can and taking supplements for anemia. I am up to my ears in B vitamins and others to help absorb B vitamins. I am concerned that I am not absorbing my vitamins as I don’t have a gall bladder any more and I don’t break down fats well. My thought process is a few smaller meals like 2 a day with adequate fat and vitamins may be easier for my body to process.
I purchased some ox bile supplements and grass fed liver supplements to help with uptake of vitamins as well. Hopefully I am doing all I can until I know more from my clinic. If any one knows anything about anemia and fasting please let me know. I am gorging myself on videos and posts to educate myself. I will know more soon.

Interesting, there’s another member here that had his/her gallbladder removed. I’m consulting weekly with an endocrinologist with the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. I asked his opinion on the situation this member is in.
Let me know what your NP tells you and hopefully by then I’ll get a response from the endocrinologist and maybe ask him a follow up question on your behalf.
Well here we go my RBC are low but I need to now have the anemia panel to show which type of anemia. I’m betting on the malabsorption one due to some other health factors. I found an article that relates to my situation on malabsorption due to having no gallbladder.
Along with other interesting reading I’ve done, it makes sense that one big omad meal isn’t being properly broken down and the nutrients are just coming back out.
I bought some ox bile and some good vitamins. Felt so much better after 2 days of using both!!!
Still going to get lab work done but I’m not as exhausted as I was when I first went to the doctor.

Here’s what the USC endocrinologist had to say:
If anything I would think not having a gallbladder might be advantageous during extreme fasting/weight loss because people who lose weight very rapidly are at risk for developing gallstones. With no gallbladder, that risk is mostly eliminated.
Not sure about bile acid malabsorption and how it might relate to a water fast.
I’m happy you went and got it checked out! I think generally maybe not so good at least to do extended fasting if you’re anemic, but keep us posted on what doctor says!
We have a member who was just intermittent fasting and has low hemoglobin and turned out she is anemic too, so anyway I’m glad you listened to your body and went to the clinic! It’s good you know your body and you could tell something was off!
Why is self sabotage a thing??? As soon as I post the accountability statement anywhere I don’t stick to it. I know this is a psychological issue, as I’ve done repeated 5 to 7 days fasted pretty regular for 3 months. As soon as I started telling people my goals I don’t even last 12 hours and I’m eating. I think I do better with quietly just setting my goals and not telling anyone.

I used to be able to water fast…but cannot do now. I do 2 meals a day mostly and occasionaly omad. What I love doing is adrian bryants 60 minute hiits each day. The weight is coming of slowly and can definitely feel lighter in my buttocks and tpps of arms. Just do YOU. Whatever will work for you. I keep lurking more on this forum nowadays rather than postibg but noting down my food and weights weekly in a hard copy diary in real life. I feel happy and satisfied with this. Hope u can find your groove and what works for YOU x
Back on track!!! Day 2 of ??? I’m just going to roll with it. Feeling good RN. I was nauseous after my coffee this waking. I think it will take time to get used to having butter in my coffee but I need to get my vitamins in.
Made it 56 hours. So happy to get back to fasting.
Do you do keto with bullet coffee…? Or do you fast, but still do bullet coffee…? A bit confused

I eat carnivore. In order to absorb some of my supplements I have to have a little bit of fat. So I’ve been putting 11 g fat in my coffee on fasting days to make sure I’m getting all of my vitamins. I understand the benifits and weighed my options. I need my supplements but I want to fast so this is what I’m trying this week.
Ok let’s do this… im just waking up. I dont know how this is gonna is work out. I’ve been jogging at the gym and I really like the work outs. I want to continue with my weights but I also still need some fat loss. I’ll just see how I feel. 163.6.
