SGD Water Fast Daily ❤️

A couple+ days into extended water fast (jumped in on thread for fast until 1 May). At 62 or so hours. I have much previous fasting experience. Used to fast for 24-36 hours weekly years ago (Paul Bragg recommendation) then have done extended water and juice fasts. Previous long fast was 17 days. Slowly my eyes are turning green (partly due to vegan, high raw, fruitarian diet and cleansing). Have tried various fasting apps and just found Life which allows you to put in an end date for an extended fast (even in the free version). Plus they have groups, so you can fast with others.

. I am taking organic alfalfa in vegetarian capsules as I feel the need, and it did facilitate heavy metal detox for me the first couple of days (you can tell from heat upon urination). Down 3 lbs, yet doing this to heal infection in head, jaw and elsewhere. Lucky stars to all! :sweat_drops::heart:

Day 1 - April 10, 2022

Daily Positive Affirmation: I accept my imperfections, and get right back up and go again! Yaye!

How I feel today: relaxed/grateful

Symptoms today: histamine reaction roof of mouth from eating peanuts (unsalted) in 30-minute monotrophic meal last night. Know better than to eat cooked food, dry roasted or otherwise, so symptoms remind me to stop messing around.

Omgosh, I am having this huge reaction to not eating. I know from reading Heinz Kohut it follows some kind of attachment issue (will try to find those quotes later and post here). So, I am reading this: https://devaraj2.substack.com/p/dont-fill-the-void-feel-it?s=r

I really feel this huge void, yet if I tune into it, underneath is sadness and longing for my mother (given up for adoption age 14, along with five siblings, she kept one and she is not a good human being, though to be fair she has her own trauma and serious issues). So, wow, crying as I write this, and it seems that I will need to be with these feelings in order to successfully water fast. Just wow. Had no idea that this intensity of feeling was inside of me.

Did a 20+ hour fast, bioenergetics exercises bringing up intense emotions which I cannot quite handle. Starting again. Keep at it!

The fasting really has supported the shift/movement of a bunch of past trauma (which the bioenergetic and Reichian movement and breathwork exercises also helped). I have had to do some primal scream (self-therapy, inner audio) plus use the Tap for Joy app + the Anxiety Rel. app (by Mark G) and another bilateral brain app to help be present to the grief and upset. I have ended up going back to a super green diet, high raw, vegan, with juice and green smoothies (zucchini, lemons or limes, etc) and some dirty fasting at times (decaf green tea with stevia or snake juice). Will mkeep checking in.

Just want to let everyone know that I am doing Yasemin’s May private fasting group for the good vibes and daily/regular accountability with 24/7 Chat & Zoom Calls!! I need the support, and I’d like to invite anyone who is thinking about it (it’s about $150US) to join us! Let’s get after it! :x::heart::droplet:

Here is a May 2022 MWF fasting + OMAD | 23 : 1 other days calendar for anyone who wants it!

Update! I am having tremendous success with my May goals, really exceeding them all with the energy + synergy of being in the May coaching group with @Yasemin + several amazing women! Am either water/electrolytes fasting :droplet: or OMAD 23:1 (being flexible about which days, and by exceeding I mean that sometimes I go 40-42 or so hours on water fast). I am using Snake Juice electrolytes, a sauna bag (low emf, 1-2 x daily), + paid group support, plus amazing fasting book (about physical, spiritual and other benefits of fasting), avoiding sugar, grains, animal products, and caffeine except for green tea or decaf green tea (has some caffeine) + high raw vegan high vibe diet for OMAD :seedling:! My results are rapidly decreasing inflammation, reducing ill health symptoms, increasing health symptoms, increasing energy, manageable detox symptoms, slimming down rapidly from in school + pandemic related weight gain. Good luck :four_leaf_clover: + peace and healing to all. :tea::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

My update from May Fast Foreward Group

I dropped about 18 pounds or 8.6 kilograms from the 8th of April til June 1, and the May group and Yasemin’s support was a huge part of that. My body fat is down nearly under 30% (my target is 22-24) and my metabolic age dropped from 56 to 54, huge relief as I’m 55 and have been metabolically over my age since gaining the PhD weight.

All of my numbers are improving dramatically (visceral fat, bmi, etc), so I thank Yasemine so much for her support in this journey. I’m 19 pounds away from my pre grad school weight, and target, yet I know how to easily get there now!:rose:

PS. Had family emergency (movement disorder and health issues of family member) in the US which changed my routine, flew to US, about to fly back to UK, and until they get needed better medical care, will have to fly back and forth until I finish school. Unbelievable stress, yet managing lectin-free vegan keto from Plant Paradox diet, so inflammation remains down. Will check my numbers back in the UK, as scale and all US stuffed boxed up (living out of a backpack), yet hopefully have maintained. :droplet::sweat_drops::avocado::grapes::lemon:

Update July 2022.

Much travelling, the US, UK, Norway and Madrid (and all of those other countries you stop by–their airports–when you buy cheap tickets on Kiwi.com).

I mostly maintained until I ate off of my lectin-free/vegan raw whole foods, A blood type diet.

I just did an 88-hour water/green tea fast. It went well.

After the family emergency, while travelling for that and school, though mostly eating a vegan keto lectin-free diet, I caved and ate off my diet (bikkies and tea in a hotel in Norway, and then ate vegan toast with coconut oil and immediately saw the infection and inflammation uptick from the WGA in the wheat from bikkies and toast: https://gundrymd.com/dr-gundry-diet-food-list/).

The GOOD news is that my body loves fasting and responds well. I had started a 30-day supervised water fast but had green smoothie + powdered asparagus/hot water soup + vegan toast/coconut oil at 88 hours due to neuropathy and pounding heart that wouldn’t slow down (truth be told, it didn’t slow down until I ate the bread). Though it slowed my heart rate and eliminated the neuropathy, I have to have some kind of whole foods bread replacement that is lectin-free and raw/sprouted/dehydrated or else eat something else entirely. However, after that meal, went right back on my fast and nearly 21 hours in. My fast supervisor isn’t a fan of electrolytes, yet I’m doing what I need to do to keep my body feeling well (as I’m working from home and fasting and travelling internationally this weekend and again two weeks later). After the initial May FastForward Group (telegram mostly) with Yasemine, I regained about 8 pounds or 3.6 kg. With the water fasting this week, I’ve dropped about 5 pounds or 2.26 kg. So, in a couple of days, I should be back at my 1 June weight. Then I’ll be working on those last 19lbs or 8.62 kg.

It has been interesting to see that I can eat a high carb (Dr Morse) diet with blended lemons/grapes, or green smoothies (1/2 to 1 avocado, sprinkle stevia, 1 bunch fresh mint, 1/2 to 1 zucchini, water, 1 lemon lemon or lime, blended in the MagicBullet) and macadamia nuts, fresh raw avocado, or whatever I want, as long as it is a whole unprocessed food and lectin-free (and right for my blood type, there are fresh whole foods that I avoid), and have no negative consequences. Processed foods always bring weight gain, inflammation, infection, and pain, and brain fog. Ugh. So, I’m super excited to be almost at my June weight (despite the shiz storm of family medical emergencies, excessive travel, and the need to finish my research/writing for school).

Also, as an aside, I learnt that fasting (water/tea only) while flying makes air travel virtually painless.

Happy fasting. The support of a supervised fast is the way to go (even if you have to sell some stuff to get that support).

Track your numbers (I’m amazed at how much water I drink daily, now that I’m tracking), and get back on that horse if you fall off.

Decades later, I am a long way from the young woman in her 20s with a binge eating disorder who ate virtually little or no fresh food (all white or brown, rice, bagels, flour-based products, sauces, noodles, bread, cheese, and obscene quantities of diet soda etc.) and was headed toward terrible illness.

It is all about progress, not perfection, and getting back on when you fall off!

Happy fasting, people! :droplet::cherry_blossom::honeybee::earth_asia::sun_with_face:

PS Want to add that the other reason, maybe the primary reason, that I gained was that I ate TOO MUCH food (I stuck to my diet 98-99% of the time).

I know that OMAD or 2MAD is what my body likes (and raw green juice which I haven’t been making, though I will add that in by September as I’ve got the juicers now).

It is so common in life for all of us to eat TOO MUCH FOOD, constantly, consistently, to the detriment of our health.

When I am around family it seems like they are ALWAYS EATING. We’re not effing cows, grazing all day, and so as Cole Robinson would suggest, I will eat for maintenance next time (because the gains weren’t water weight coming back on but EXCESS EATING from not eating according to a maintenance approach).

PPS Also, the low emf sauna bag and fascia blasters are a critical part of this body makeover and wellness journey.
