Intro: I’m excited to be part of this forum and community and to continue to make fasting a part of my lifestyle. I’ve struggled with my weight and confidence my whole life. This has affected my quality of life and relationships. I’ve tried so many diets and used food as comfort. I’ve spent the past 25 plus years attempting to be Vegan, been involved in intuitive eating, joining weight watchers etc. None of these worked only making everything harder. I was eating way too much sugar with a latte addiction at Starbucks! In April of this year 2018 I decided I’d give keto a try. I was having inflammation issues and bad joint pain and I thought I had carpal tunnel with wrist pain. Also skin issues. I was surprised keto worked so quickly! I lost some weight finally and my pain was going away. I then learned more about fasting and started doing fasts weekly - some one day and up to 6 day fasts. I also added strength training at the beginning of this year and joined a boot camp gym a few months ago going daily. I’ve lost 45 lbs so far and am closer to my goal! I am 5 ft and would like to weight 105 lbs. I have 20 more to go. As of recently I’ve been having a hard time to get through a fasting day so I want to hold myself more accountable. The benefits of fasting are incredible and I want to feel that good again! Sometimes when I eat many days in a row it’s harder to start a fast. For me the first day is the most challenging and it’s all mental.
Purpose and Why?
- Number one is health! I want to feel good and have energy and be around for my children for as long as possible.
- Confidence - tired of hating on myself I want to feel confident so I can achieve my dreams in life and focus my energy and thoughts on more positive things.
- Powerful - fasting helps me feel in control and strong. Most people will not even attempt fasting even if their life and health depends on it.
- Addiction-free - I don’t want to be addicted to food and have it control me.
- Beauty - I want healthy clear skin and to feel all around beautiful.
- Strength - I want to be strong and lean and have the energy to move around in life.
- Self-love
- Clean Body and Clear Mind
- I want to wear cute clothes and not have to hide myself.
- Freedom - I want to go swimming with my kids instead of sit on the side lines. I want to feel sexy for my husband.
Short term goal: To do a 3 day fast starting the 27th with the rest of the fasting forward community!
Goals: To make keto and fasting a sustainable healthy lifestyle. To achieve my goal of 105 lbs. Adding muscle to my body and staying strong and healthy. To maintain it easily once achieve my goal!
Struggles: Been hard for me to fast especially since I have been eating daily for past couple of months. Hard when people around are always eating and also negative to me about fasting.
How do I feel now? I feel a bit out of control, been getting more relaxed with my eating habits and stretching eating windows and don’t want to go backwards with all the work I’ve put in. I want to keep going forward.
How will I feel when I achieve my goal? Strong, confident, energetic, and beautiful.
Affirmation: I am strong. I am confident. I am lean and beautiful. Fasting and making healthy decisions are easy for me. I am abundant in every way.
