Monday, i am back on it and i am sticking to it!! How many times have i said that???
Way too many times… I had been thinking a while now, when is the best time to start my water fast again. Monday? The first day of next month? January 1st? Sounds good in theory and i have said it so many times. Something always comes up and excuses are easier than fasting for another 24 hours.
I had Monday this week planned but still had plenty of fresh veggies left over in the fridge so i thought yup, finish those first so they don’t go to waste. Then this Saturday night we have a pink charity night so i said, i will just start next Monday instead and then this happened…
Little back story also…
So… i have been off the fasting trail for a short while now and in that time i have gradually put 10kg (22 pounds) and believe me, i am not proud of it. I did say i would never be 100kg (220 pounds) again and here i am now sitting 103 kg.
In the space of 2 months i have noticed being short of breath doing the most simple things such as getting in and out of a car, getting into bed and lifts become a very good friend when you need to get to another floor in a building. I can also hear myself breathing at times which is abnormal.
I have so many t shirts in my drawers but it is like they are set in weight order. I get to a certain weight and i can no longer wear certain t shirts. I am now currently wearing the 3 XXL shirts i can wear and even they are at a point where i feel they are sticking to me.
2 nights ago i got a real shock when my girlfriend woke me up and stated -
“you have now started your fast!!!.. you were laying there, snoring away (which is unusual) and then you just stopped breathing for i don’t know how long. You scared me!!”
To hear that kinda freaks you out, so, like my most caring girlfriend said, yes, now i am fasting and i plan to do it for quite a while. When you feel you are not in the best condition and when there is total concern from a loved one, i say its time to start. i want to be around for a long time yet and i want to share that with Monique.
I would like to say i will continue the fast for an extended period of time and i hope i can. My longest is 11 days and i want to blitz that if i can.
I have just finished day 2 starting at 10 PM on the 11th day of March and when i wake up in the morning i hope to be under 100 kg.
My journey has now hit 5th gear and i am doing everything i can to ensure that my health returns to normal.
I believe any time is a good time to start a fast, as long as you feel you are ready. Yes i was forced into it this time but was a good wake up call. You don’t have to start on a Monday, or make it a new years resolution and there will most certainly be another event to go to!
