Newbie. 5 day water fast

Hello! Today is Day 1 of my first 5 day water fast. I am actually doing water and coffee fasting. I will sip coffee with a tiny measured amount of creamer throughout the day for happiness and because coffee is an appetite suppressant. But that’s it.

I am not obese, but I am a tiny bit chubby and have been struggling with binge eating for years. Quarantine has added even more pounds argh! Tired of it. Tired of the two steps forward/one step backwards of long traditional diets.

I’m hoping that a 5 day water fast will give my body a jumpstart and also re-train my mind that it’s OKAY to be without the crutch of food once in awhile.

My weight loss goal, ultimately, is 25 pounds.

I love the phrasing, “…for happiness”. That’s about how I feel about coffee with cream. It makes me happy. I’m trying to do this with minimal black coffee which isn’t very happy at all. I miss coffee. And after my last few days of fasting, coffee didn’t sound appealing to me and I missed wanting coffee, if that makes sense.

I started drinking tea this week, and I had cold brewed some coffee but wasn’t expecting to drink it until the weekend as I love cream in it.

To my surprise, I drank the black cold brew and yay! I was good with it!

I’ll save the cream for the weekend still, but was happy to expand my palate for “acceptable” drinks. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hot coffee needs cream for sure.
