My Awesome 21 day water fast

Hey Guys,

I’m excited and happy that I have joined this forum.
I’ve previously done a 3 day and a week water fast. I have started a 21 day water fast from today (May 26, 2020 - 08:00 PM IST).
I’ll be updating my journey through the 21 day water fast on a daily basis.
Let’s fast and let’s get healthier.

I had to face the same situation with my family as well. I suggest you to talk to your parents about fasting its health benefits, you can also ask them to join you in the fast for a day or two. This way they will get to experience the benefits of fasting. This is what i have done at home to change my parent’s perspectives on fasting.:wink:

@Mythili_Priya.R yeah… what ur saying is absolutely right…

But with my parents , I almost tried everything to make them understand but still they didn’t come up with my opinion. Bcuz am staying in a hostel, they want me to eat well. They say" we can’t see you starving ".and that’s what all parents say. But this time, I’m ready to face everything. My goal is to lose weight.as a teenager being overweight is really a problem.I also want to do a complete 30 day fast.

Wat about you?

Well my goal is also to lose weight which i have gained over the quarantine. :yum:

Hi, i been wondering to take this challenge for the first time, but the resistance comes to me often, would you mind to share your feeling and thoughts on:

What do you struggle the most when fasting? Would you consider that your election to do fasts its only for the weight benefits? Do you know a tool that mixes fasting, meditation and awareness?

Hi Guys,

I have been off track for a weeks and started fasting again. I am 5 hours into my water fasting. I haven’t set any goals for water fasting, i’m just gonna see how long i can go.

Weight check in- 64 kg
Goal is to reach 50 kg

Glad you’re back!

Just take it one day at a time if that feels right.

You may want to try some mini goals? Or rolling in with some ADF?

Thanks Miramar…

I have been on OMAD for the past few days and just wanted to do a prolonged fast to lose all the weight i have gained over the quarantine

Has anyone done a back to back short term fasts for a month (maybe 48hr - 72hr fast and then an hour of refeed and back to fast)? How effective is it when compared to the prolonged fast?

I haven’t. Based on the fact it takes 32 to 40 hours for the liver to deplete its glycogen stores and that skeletal muscle has the remaining 80% probably mean that the rolling 48s and 72s are not as effective a prolonged fast over the same period of time.

Primarily because every time you refeed you start restoring those depleted glycogen stores and delay going into autophagy. The latest science estimates it take 3 days of extended fasting before partial autophagy and 7 day before full autophagy.

Hope this answers your question.
