I do have electrolytes in my water, haven’t tried ACV yet though. I was trying to do water only, does ACV not break the fast??
My 30 Day Water Fast Journal
It doesn’t because you would only take a small amount like 1 to 2 tablespoon. You can add it when you find your fast really difficult.
Okay thank you I will try that and see if it helps!
Please mix with a glass of water, not on its own. All the best.
Also sip through a straw so it doesn’t damage the enamel on your teeth.
Well I have had a pretty crazy couple of days. I woke up Thursday evening from a late afternoon nap with Extreme dizziness to the point that I could not stand, was vomiting, tried to crawl and couldn’t even do that I was so dizzy. Symptoms persisted for 7 hours until my dad decided I should be taken to hospital. Turned out that I had a severe case of vertigo. Man was that miserable. The medication they gave me helped with the nausea and the dizziness is down. I am still quite unsteady but don’t feel like I’d rather die so that’s good. If anyone has experienced this then you know that you couldn’t live like that for very long. I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. This forced me to break my fast sadly but what can you do but start again. So today begins day 1 again. My question is do you think that the vertigo had anything to do with fasting or was it totally separate and would have happened anyways?
I’ll run it by the endocrinologist at USC’s Medical School when I submit my weekly status report Monday and see what he thinks.
I suggest you take several days off with a good refeed to give your body sufficient time to recover. Reason is fasting, by its nature, is stressful on the body which is why our rejuvenation and recovery systems get activated. Hope you feel better!
I’ve had vertigo really bad once in my life I would turn my head in bed and room would spin & nausea. I was so afraid to walk I crawled through the bathroom. And a few hours later it was gone & I was surprised I felt fine to still go to work that day! My doctor said they can happen with an ear infection but given how it came then went, he said there are these little crystals, I believe in our inner ear on some tiny hairs and they are part of our balancing system. Sometimes they can get moved about and cause verigo. Thats my recollection of it!
Sorry to hear that. Glad you are feeling better. Perhaps you should wait and start again on the 18th with the group. Also as someone that suffers with vertigo, I don’t think it has anything to do with your fast, but that is just what i think. Take it easy. My last meal will be sunday evening ready for Mondays fast. Have yourself a good refeed. Also, @Compdude will let you know his finding. Let us know what you decide but for now you should eat something with good nutrition.
Pay close attention to your thoughts and feel your emotions, and just allow it all to come up, without hooking into it.
I’m finding that the only time I get upset is when I actually believe the thoughts I think and/or judge the thoughts or me for thinking them.
When I just allow the thoughts to come up, without judging them or me, they just disappear and I don’t get upset. And, yes, there are thoughts I have to do this with multiple times per day, but keep going, and they will dissipate.
Also, I’ve had a history of eating when I’m dealing with certain emotions. Instead, what I’ve been trying to do lately is just feel the feelings without taking ANY action - no eating, no exercise, no trying to distract myself by watching TV, or whatever… I just sit in bed and feel the feelings. I do my best to feel them as fully as I can, and, often, peace comes in.
It really is a matter of not judging yourself for feeling or thinking certain things.
I’ll sometimes write everything I’m thinking and feeling down and then rip it up and throw it out as a gesture that I’m getting rid of them.
NOTE: some of these thoughts and feelings do come back many times, but the key here is, again, not to judge myself as a failure or as a loser for feeling or thinking them. Think of it as having no control of what comes up, but that what does come up is specifically so you can release it. That’s the ONLY reason these things come to mind.
Hi, i been wanting to take this challenge for the first time, but the resistance comes to me often.
What do you struggle the most when fasting? Would you consider that your election to do fasts its only for the weight benefits? Do you know a tool that mixes fasting, meditation and awareness?
