Merri’s March Fasting Challenge!

Hi there! I am Merri
I am starting out my second fasting challenge coming in hot at 5’5 and 190lbs! I am nervous/excited about March. Summer is coming and I want to feel good and comfortable in shorts and skirts. A lot of my clothes are tight on me right now and if will feel great to have them be more comfy on my body for the hotter months. That is my main motivation and also my double chin lol. I want that jawline looking snatched!!! My progress pics are in that section if you want to see. I am only 5 lbs lighter than when I took those so I look the same.

  Jan fasting was great. I lasted 7 days before giving in and unfortunately binged. I felt really good fasting though and I think this time around I am going to focus more on the mental journey. I’m not going to focus on food so much. I don’t want to obsess over it because I think that’s what led me to binge. I have kept off 6 lbs which is half of the weight I lost- still a win and moving in the right direction. 

  Feb I planned to do keto but couldn’t stick to it. I am hoping that this March fasting challenge will help me. Below is a list of reasons I want to lose weight. Some of them are superficial but all in good taste. I love my body no matter what and I know I will always have insecurities, but I do want to see progress.

OBJECTIVES/ REASONS WHY I’M LOSING WEIGHT

Encourage and motivate myself with healthy progress
Earn discipline, and practice determination and perseverance
Feel more energized, sleep better
Stick to a routine so that my life is more organized
Lose weight
Get rid of double chin, big ankles and chubby hands.
Be more comfortable in my body
Be able to wear cute clothes that are tight on me now
Wear skirts
Look good in a bathingsuit
Be fit and able to easily complete a hike or run

Tomorrow at 1pm on March first I will begin my fast. I have to have brunch before then because a friend is moving and we have a going away thingy planned. But after then, no food for 21 days! Let’s see how far I can go. I am in it with you!

Day 1
Water fasting
March 3, 2020

So I have pushed back my fast until today which means I’m a couple days behind, but that’s okay. I decided to eat yesterday because it was my best friends birthday and I make a mean mojito. In any case, I haven’t eaten anything today ! I had black coffee this morning but that was all.
I was soooo close to eating some chicken salad. I mean I had seasoned it and everything- BUT I put it back in the fridge and really dealt with WHY I wanted to eat. Like Yasemin suggests I tried to find 5 reasons why I should break my fast and couldn’t. I knew I didn’t want to and I needed to stay strong- and I did!! I ended up cleaning my kitchen instead and keeping myself busy. I’m really proud I did! I can do this! Just trying to get to bed. I will also be making my sticky note calendar tonight and going to the gym for the last time. I have a feeling I’m going to get a lot of cleaning done this month lol.
