Mental Preparation

Hey Guys,

I have only just jumped onboard this forum, so much amazing input, so thankful to find such a forum.

I am about to embark on a 21 day water fast come Monday, I have practiced fasting & extended fasting multiple times in the past, until recently totally relaxing with my food intake and ballooning over a period of a month and ahalf, hense wishing to attempt a 21 day fast to completely reset my mindset & go this whole heartedly, starting afresh with keto omad after this fast.

Aside from the very helpful videos and tips already posted, has anyone else got any last minute advice in regards to preparing myself mentally & physically?

TIA - Mel x

  1. Eliminate as many stressors in your life as possible.
  2. Have a daily goal that by accomplishing gives you a sense of progress every day. Personally, it was a daily walk of 1 to 2 miles.
  3. Make sure you have a strong “why” that will help you through adversity
  4. Make sure you have the minimum required supplements: salt, potassium and magnesium to maintain your electrolyte levels.
  5. Besides this forum, see if you can recruit someone you can be accountable to and to whine to when you need to.

Otherwise, good luck!

I would suggest as a very wise leader on this forum suggested to break it up into shorter periods. IE 5 day at a time goal to reach. I initially aimed for 30. Got to 19. Had never done more than 7 before so 19 was a huge victory! But I missed the opportunity to celebrate and created more stress for myself by being solely focused on the 30 number. Its ok to have the long view, but the short will help keep you sane & give you joy!
