Loose skin and wrinkles

Hi,

I did a 20 day water fast last month, and at the end of it I lost a considerable amount of weight. But I found the my face was wrinkled (especially the forehead), and my fingers. Any clues why that could be? Any preventive measures I could take to avoid more wrinkles in my fingers and hand when I join you’ll on the fast on 27th?

Congratulations with your 20 day water fast! Typically with fasting, your body goes through a process of autophagy and actually eats up old skin cells and regenerates new ones so according to Dr. Fung, fasting actually allows your body to take care of the loose skin itself! Keep going, your body will take care of itself. When we have more fat on our bodies, our bodies plump up a bit, don’t forget that too! :smiley:

Congratulations Faiza and salam! How did you manage your willpower for 20 days?!

I need to lose 10 pounds in the next 3 weeks and I think water fasting is my best bet. I did 3 days last week and I felt fine, but hungry!

I just started day 2 of this fast. I want to do 7 days. Any tips?

Welcome to our fasting community!

The 1st 3 to 5 days are the hardest as your body transitions from glucose to ketosis. Then the hunger pangs start fading. Don’t exercise strenuously during a fast. Fasting is stressful on the body and I’ve seen to many members fail by over stressing their bodies by refusing to cut down on their workouts. Have the required supplements to maintain your electrolytes: salt, potassium and magnesium. Have a strong “why” and set a daily goal for yourself that will give you a sense of progress which for me was a daily 1 to 2 mile walk.

Only for the first 3 days I was hungry. After that it was just craving for anything to eat but not hunger. Don’t misunderstand craving for hunger. Usually if I am hungry, the stomach will grumble and all that. I didn’t have that after 3 days.

Loosing 10 pounds is quite easy depending on your current weight.

I failed twice in the past 2 days :broken_heart:. It’s just that my compulsion to eat is really strong. I’m still not giving up though! Started again today.

I watched a video yesterday by Dr. Mindy on what happens when.you water fast and I feel like it really motivated me. There’s a lot of food at house too, so I have to really fight my urges!
