Okay, day 2 of fasting. I have done fasting before, however never for a 30 day commitment. I am excited and anxious at the same time. However, I refuse to alI low myself to feel sorry for myself and focus on food.
I am going to take this month to not only fast, lose weight and try to shed my excess body, I hope to shed my excess emotionally. It is time to shed some unwanted extra baggage and focus on SELF healing and acceptance. I hope this is a beautiful and transitioning journey.

Day 2 and I’m just SO COLD lol

Hope to keep logging things daily to help clear my mind and focus.

That’s great! I’m on day 2 also! I’ve never completed more than a 48-hr fast. I want to go 21 days, so we’ll see what happens!

Coffee and food cravings were awful today. I have a slight headache, but the salt isn’t helping much! Everything else is good! Lost 4 lbs - probably water, but hey!

The first 3 to 5 days is the body transitioning from sugar to fat burning (aka glucose to adipose burning). If you haven’t prepped the body with a low carb diet, have a sugar/carb addiction and/or your body hasn’t much experience going through fasting, you will probably experience “transition” symptoms.

Salt won’t help much during the first 3 days because you have sufficient iodine stored from your last few meals unless you had low-salt food.

I was eating a low carb diet for 3 days prior to starting my fast. I do maintain a normal 2MAD eating schedule of 16/8. However, I have never lost my taste for sweet things and simple carbs, but I’m determined!
